I know that we've been discussing ad-nauseum the "phantom" non-starting issues that seem to affect various year model Yukons, Suburbans, and Escalades. You turn the key, all the power comes up, and... nothing. I'd like to know if anyone has found a cost effective way to deal with this or even narrowed down exactly what the issue is?
I've now had my truck for one year and have experienced this issue about ten times. I have a little anecdotal information which, of course, could be purely coincidental.
This has only ever happened when I've had passengers - never alone. So, what I'm saying is after we've exited the vehicle, the next time I come back is when it won't start. I'm not sure if that means the passenger doors, the airbag weight sensor, the airride system, or what triggers the failure. Also, I only get the blinking security light half the time that it fails. I'm guessing that the lift gate door can be removed from the equation because I open that one often when I'm solo - no failures.
If anyone else has any anecdotal info, solutions, etc to share, I'm certainly interested in hearing them.
FYI, I've had the battery, starter, alternator, and ignition switch checked - all good. I've not been able to duplicate this failure at the dealership, of course. And, the reset times have gone from 15 minutes (tolerable) to over 24 hours (Man, I can't do it) the last time this happened.
