Your Yukon came with a Gen4 LS engine
The LS1 is a Gen3
wire harness and ecm are different
but somebody probably makes a conversion kit
Best bang for the buck is likely a 6.0L L76 / LY6 / L96 / LC8, then put 243/799 heads on it.Just get yourself any Gen IV V8. It'd be easier to swap. Bore out a 5.3L to 5.7L if you want the extra cubes, or do a 6.0L or 6.2L.
You can use a Gen IV engine in a Gen III with the Lingenfelter 58X to 24X reluctor adapter, but it doesn't work the other way around.
You'd have to tear down the bottom end and swap the reluctor on the crank to a 58X type, then install a 4X cam sprocket and LS2 front timing cover with the cam sensor, and IDK where you would mount your knock sensors because the blocks have them in different spots.
Just get yourself any Gen IV engine. It'd be easier to swap. Bore out a 5.3 to 5.7 if you want the extra cubes, or do a 6.0 or 6.2. IDK
