2005 GMC Yukon Denali Xl Diesel engine

Hi, I am looking at buying a 2005 GMC Yukon Denali Xl with a diesel engine. The car has 167k mi and they are asking $8000 for it. I know nothing about this engine... I love the 6.0 vortec, but this would be completely new to me. anything I should know? The car looks to be in good shape. I do think it has hauled a bit, so I am concerned about the transmission also. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Is that a custom conversion? Gm never made a factory Yukon Denali with a diesel. If this is diesel what brand diesel and motor? Which transmission? Post some photos.
