Need to be more specific, Where is it coming from? does it change when you turn, or fast inputs to the steering? Could be simple from a bad PS pump to a bad rear end to transmission, thats why we need as much detail as possible.

Yes this.. A lot more info is needed. From OPs description, it could be anything anywhere in the entire driveline to the two little neighbor kids OP forgot they had strapped to the roof.

Tahoe it’s when you accelerate on the load, changed Alternator, tensioner/idler Pulley, noise still there, noise is coming from under the hood, that’s where I’m hearing it, noise sounds like a car with gear drive, noise comes and goes when shifting, automatic. Trans

Sounds like a power steering pump if the noise changes with rpm, a failing transmission pump can do this as well but there are usually other symptoms that go along with the whining.

You have checked the power steering fluid level and the transmission fluid level I assume?

Go around it with a stethoscope or screw driver. Verify fluid levels.

No way around it: need to get your hands dirty. There's no one fix fixes all for this stuff
