2003 Tahoe - hard to start - emgine light on

I have a 2003 Tahoe and today it was difficult to start. It actually started but when pumping the gas nothing really happened, the engine was running but the revs were real low - then all of a sudden it burst into life and ran fine, except when stationary the revs are erratic. Also, the check engine light is now permanently on. Any idea's as to what could be the problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Robb

If your "check engine" light is on and it's acting up you should get a code reader and see why the light is on..

I would try cleaning your throttle body but also check the code to see what it says.
