I'm new on this forum, and I know this topic has probably been beat to death but I just wanted to share this maybe it will be helpful to someone else. So I have a 2002 Tahoe and was looking for efans to put in it. Now usually I go to the local junk yard and get a set of intrepid fans wire in a couple of relays tie into the the ac clutch command and install a 210 degree thermoswitch. All of about 100 bucks usually gets this done. Well I got these fans from a 99 Tahoe. Being an obs I measured to make sure they would fit and it looked like it would so I pulled them. Man these fit like they were made for it I took some pics the top mounts bolted right in the clips in the side lined up and it was flush with the bottom.

The fans even had the hole for the radiator hose holder. The only thing I have to do is look the wires together. The green wire is the same color as the ac wire you need to slice into. Everything else was plug and play. They had a flexalite fan controller which works perfectly.

If any body knows by looking at them if these are flexalite or OEM fans that would be helpful for future reference I did not see any part numbers on them

I was gonna ask didn't the obs have a clutch fan? Looks good. Still gotta install my fans in my 03. I really want to turn them on through a tune, through the pcm, instead of doing a thermo switch--but I'm not ruling that out either. Good job.

Yea the obs did have a fan clutch. Operating the fans via the PC is the most ideal option but I'm not ready to send mine off yet and I don't have hp tuners and kinda the same situation on other vehicles I've done. A 4 dollar relay from the parts store and an 8 dollar thermoswitch plus a couple bucks at home depot to get a 1/4 tee to put into the hose coming from the throttle body and your done. I've never had any issues doing it that way.

These fans have there own controller which is kinda cool it ramps up the speed as engine temp rises. So when it hits 210 they come on on low and will get faster if the temp gets hotter. Now granted I'm sure these fans were not cheap by any means but for me they were almost free had I not been able to snag these I would have went the dodge intrepid fan route. I just like the colder ac with them and the cleaner look plus more room to work

    Looks pretty slick!

Is there a huge advantage to converting to electric fans vs the engine driven ones? I know the engine driven fans take some power to push, is it really that much?

I have a 00' Tahoe and I've been thinking of doing this upgrade, could you talk a bit more on installing the relay and thermo switch and the 1/4 tee to the throttle body with an extra pic or two of what's connected to what and what you purchased? Thanks!
