I looked at the 2015 and 2016 Tahoe catalogs and it appears the 2-speed transfer case could be ordered as an option, separate from the Z71 or Max Trailering Packages.

I just wonder if it has the NQH 2 speed transfer case does that automatically give you the 3:42 gears

About 99٪ of the time the 2 speed is with the 3.42 gears, because normally its paired with z71 and max tow...

Only with the Z-71 and Max Trailering Package. So it seems to me according to the brochure, that one could have a 4x4 without 3.42 gears (and those aforementioned options) and select the 2-speed transfer case.

Ok I found a 2016 suburban online and don’t have access to the option codes. I was hoping it had the 3:42 gears. As you can see from the pic it has the 2 speed transfer case but no trailer brake controller.

Well, why don't you ask the dealership to take a photo of the RPO sheet which I think on those is still in the glove box? I've done that more than a few times!

Well I thought about that but I didn’t want to show any interest in it till I knew exactly what it was. Trying to not be aggravated by someone trying to sell me something I don’t want. My best friend is a tech at my local Gm dealer. If I had the vin I could get him to tell me. I appreciate that link for future references!!
