2 10's Question

If one was running one amp to two 10"s.....would it be a good thing to have one in a ported box and one in a sealed box for an array of sounds?

Looking to run 2 10's in this box. I was thinking about cutting down the middle, re-sealing and then porting one of the sides.

porting a box is more than just putting a hole in it, if you have the ability to port a box, why not just build your own and test what you actually want to do, but im sure it could sound ok but Im thinking that the port box will be louder than the seal box if using the same amp and also, the ported box may distort at different levels while the sealed one is playing perfect, do you get what im saying( the subs are going to be doing diff things)

either do two sealed, or two ported, do not mix the two.

cool. I figured that but I was going on the premise of one for tight 'kick drum' style bass vs. bass guitar style. I know that 10's are decent at both frequencies so I will just do the 2 10's in the sealed box.

I am learning that you need a PHD in car audio to really know the deal. THis shit is complicated.

nah man, relatively easy, amp gain settings and enclosure design is the hardest part.

No the PHD part is way beyond what any of us here use. Most people just don't have a clue what they are listening to.
