How's in going guys,

I've been lurking for the past couple weeks on and off, see a lot of the same regulars around, so thats nice. First, let me say hi, I'm Alex, I'm new here. Second off had a few questions for you guys.

Tomorrow if the sell of my bmw 135i goes well, I should be picking up a 2010 Tahoe in the evening. Wanted to jump straight to a few mods (hate rolling around all stock and whatnot), and had a few questions on them, the sooner I could have them answered the sooner I can order them all. :Handshake:

I am currently looking at some 24" wheels, but wanted to know any advantages, or disadvantages on going 9.5 or 10 on the width. Whats the beefiest tire I could go with on either? 305/35 perhaps? Any Help with that would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking of going with the U2-55B's or the Boss 330's. Whichever wheel I get I would powder coat all gloss black, not a big fan of chrome lips or any chrome for that matter. Thanks for all the help with the easy decisions too, I was lurking the hell out of the "white and black hoes thread" It really showed me the options out there. ALSO, not wanting to lower it, so hopefully that helps in which tires to get.

Next onto the lights. After seeing Sumo and Soulsea go back and forth on that thread about projectors, I think those are a little out of my budget/time. I wish the esky headlights were totally interchangeable without changing the hood, front end, etc. So looks like I'll probably just get some 5k HID's and call it a day. (even though I really wanted some projectors)

Now tailights, I hear good things about the G5's that are out there on ebay, also hear they look just as good if not better than the esky tails. So I'll most likely go with those (dont know how they hold up on the long term, so if one of you know please chime in).

Last but not least, searched for a while for some double din options and saw a couple people had them out there. What are your suggestions on that? I heard going OEM navy is probably a best bet if you can find them on ebay/cl or whatnot. If not I could go that pioneer route that everyone is talking about. (this isn't really high up on my list but any info helps).

Thanks so much for your time gentlemen, and wish me luck tomorrow. :mexsmoke:

Welcome Alex. I have HID's in my avalanche and stock projectors in my escalade. I definitely recommend retrofitting projectors in a stock housing if price isn't an issue. The G5 tails are identical to the escalade tails in every way possible. I had them on my 08 Tahoe LTZ and it looked great. I would definitely go with the G5 led tails if I were you. Then get some escalade appliqués to match :)

In my Tahoe I went the pioneer aftermarket route (avic-z110bt) and for my avalanche, I went with the factory nav. If I could do it again, I'd go aftermarket bc the factory nav (even with the 2011 disk) is pretty ******. I would look into the kenwood dnx9980hd that has built in Garmin software.

Yeah, I saw all the trouble sumo and soulsea went through to do the stock housing retrofit route. Seemed a little pricey.

I'm pretty much sold on the G5 lighs (that'll probably be my first purchase).

How do you like that avic-z110bt? It's more in my price range than the kenwood. :emotions122:

I liked it a lot actually. Whats your budget for nav? here is the dnx9980 for less than a G.

Alex,

I have a brand new set of G4 taillights that I am going to be selling. If you are interested and would like a set of those, I will give you first shot at them. I bought two sets because my brother was thinking about doing them, but he decided to stay with OEM. They are brand new and still in the box. You can e-mail me at [email protected] if you are interested. Included a photo of what they look like.

To be honest, I would be a little more comfortable being a little closer to like $400-$700. But we'll see, this double din/nav is towards the bottom of my list of things to get.

Thanks for the offer but I would be getting the red ones (closer to the esky ones). Also, looking for G5's. :)

I would be interested in these. What do they fit, and how much $$? e-mail is on the way.

How about the wheels guys?

Will 24x10's with 305-35-24 tires work alright on the tahoe? without rubbing or whatnot?

I'm pretty sure it's going to rub a little. I had KMC Slide 24's on my Tahoe with 305/35/24 tires and it rubbed at full lock in reverse. The wider the tire the more it will rub. The 295's don't rub bc it's not as wide but they are a lot thinner then the 305's.

I have 295/30/26s and mine rub the slightest amount possible. Did you already purchase the tahoe? If so where are the pics? I am not a fan of chrome either if you can't tell lol, by the way welcome to the forum!

Interesting I may have to go with the 9.5's instead. I wonder if that will look weird from behind as i like having wide wheels.

Well those are on 26's, hopefully if I run the same setup on 24's I should be good. So now, im thinking 295/35/24. does that sound right? I've been searching for black wheels online (all black, no chrome) and havent had much luck on ebay or CL. also checked the for sale section on there couldnt find much.

Felix, could you show me what these appliqués look like?

Thanks for the links dude.

Just got back from the dealership with the one I was looking at online. 2010 White LT, pretty happy with it. Can't wait to start doing stuff to it.

I know these are really tedious things to ask for. But I'm looking for a link to a front and rear bowtie overlay (carbon fiber). I find somet that dont cover the whole thing, do most of you guys just paint yours?

Also checked the sylvania website on their bulb guide and found the license plate replacement for some led's long with the backup light, but before i go through superbrightleds.com (which i've previously bought stuff in the past from) I'd like to see if anyone has any suggestins? perhaps bulbs that look really well in the reverse light/back up light, and the license plate.

Thanks a lot for the help fellas.

Sorry to hi-jack this thread but I figure instead of starting another thread asking the same exact questions, I'd just add to this one since I'm interested in the same mods.

I've ordered a set of the ck375 from Scottie and am waiting to install 305/40/22s. Will these be okay with a Belltech 2/3 drop?

I've ordered a pair each of 3157 45hp LED bulbs and a pair of the 7440 45hp for the running lights and reverse lights from SuperbrightLEDs. Should I be replacing the turn signals lights as well? Also which bulb is everyone using for the license plate.

Next on the list is an interior upgrade with graphite Katzkin covers and the Kenwood dnx9980. Any positive or negative feedback on these, especially the Katzkin would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I am running 295/35R24 on a Belltech 2/4 kit and they rub when I flex a fair amount and sometimes at full lock in reverse. So I would imagine that if you are not lowering it you should be ok.
