Well I havent touched shit in my car for 3 years and the system was never completed. So I got pissed and decided to rebuilt it due to having some time finally so I might be rusty on some fiberglassing etc. Not going for spl but an sql car. It will consist of all sundown amps (sundown 3000, 100.4, 50.4), all lowmids from eton and vifa, midrange all tangband or dayton( still deciding) and finally tweets will be all vifa radiator tweets, alpine 9887 ( will be replaced with rockford threesixty.4 or audison bitone, will have motorized ipad(or android tablet), 2 powermaster d3100, and motorized sub amp rack. This build will be very slow do to the fact I have little time in the week to work on it and waiting for my work to pay me. So here is the start of it.
So did the basic wiring and ran my mogami signal wire (got 12channels but using 8)

Put plastic filler

God done sanding it and testing the fit, like the way it looks
IMG_1749_zpsc21ff10b.jpg

tomorrow I will primer it and hopefully get it wired up and all
So here is my apillar idea, it will house 2 4 inch mids on each side along with a tweeter but idk if i will keep it or just redo the a pillar again
IMG_1751_zpsffbf611e.jpg

IMG_1752_zpse8619bad.jpg

I ran all the wiring but didn't take any pics
thats all for today but will get the primer on the bezel and start on the mid high amp rack tomorrow

So got started on the doors. Basically front doors will have 2 eton lpg 6 1/2 sealed and in the rear dayton 5 1/4 with a vifa xt tweet. Here it the process, I basically cut the pannel and fiberglassed it so it can be removable.

Strong work

I did something similar in mine, but without the relocation of the controls.

I agree wholeheartedly with the door build - what people don't realize about these trucks is how damn hard it is to get get midbass sound out of these doors! They are impossible to seal properly due to the mounting system of the doorpanels, and IME, "free-air" midbasses just don't have the punch I'm looking for in the lower midbass range.

After 4 rebuilds on my doors alone, I currently have a CDT M6+ in each door. They each have their own sealed fiberglass enclosure mounted behind the doorpanels and inner doorskin. Lots of cutting needed for this mod, but it was well worth it. I may swap back out to my Exodus Anarchy midbasses. Originally had tweets up on the A-pillars, but I tossed those and now am running Image Dynamics HLCDs. A pair of TC-Sounds TC-9 12s in the back complete my drivers. 3 alts, 2 batteries and around 5kw of power. Using a Sundown 3500d for the subs and a pair of Phoenix Gold Xenon X200.4s for up-front duty (bridged for 400W x 4 channels). :D

Stealth was my main concern outside of sound, so that's why I did my doors the way I did. Considering a major door rebuild, however. This would include a 10" sub and dual 6.5" mids in each door. Problem is finding someone I trust to do it.

Good job, keep us posted!

I couldn't agree with you more. I did freeair the eton before and sounded horrible. I was so mad that I decided to rebuilt it LOL. I am gonna have to modify the doors more and the fiberglass template I made. People don't understand when you put a ton a speakers in the door, you need the proper enclosure for it to sound good and free airing is not the proper way( good example pa speakers in the car). Its not big enough for the cubic feet needed but if I get pissed, I will just get some 8inch midbasses for the doors and call it a day. Got pics of your buid btw?

Thanks bro!
Nice, which head unit are you going with?
Alpine 9887 for now but switching to rockford 360.4 with optical going to the tablet

I've got pics... but I'm not gonna jack your thread. I'll think about starting my own.

I also had planned on doing 8s in the doors, but when I put some solid beefy midbasses in real enclosures in the doors, the difference was astounding. As I said, I may go back to my Anarchys, which are ridiculous. I need to spend a lot of time tuning it, but I'm lazy. I'm using a Behringer DCX-2496 for processing, so I can do any and everything I'd ever need with it, plus about a billion things I'll never need. lol

no judging. I really wanna get a dbx system managment processor( crazy I know but worked live sound, I LOVE dbx!!) or just get the rockford 3sixty.3 and call it a day, trying to kinda keep this build at a budget. I just adjusted the fiberglass mold and everything looks like its going to fit. success

Well been very busy and haven't worked on the tahoe much. Here are a couple new pics. I really said this would be a slow build. I have to pause on the ipad install in the dash, motorized amp rack, alt, and batt. For now I am getting all the doors pods, apillar, and headliner redone due to money issues. Here are a couple updated pics. Should work on the car tomorrow due to nice weather in co

Here are some final updates for now
Got all the speakers wired in and working
I didn't get anything wrapped in vinyl since I can't afford it at the moment and don't want to get them painted. I did some rta in the car and eq adjustments to the best I could (really need the 3sixty.3)
Cleaned the wiring

So updates. I decided not to do any motorization on the ipad. Cost was to much and need to save some money. Got all the custom door pods and a pillar painted flat black since the car will get eventually get painted matte white. so going for the brown, white, and black theme. On to pics:
Sub box is built and the tunning is 36hz and roughly 6cubs after all the displacement

I used 1 1/2 inch sheetmount screws in which I screwed threw the bottom of that round piping that attaches to the seat
