03 Tahoe Rear sway Bar

I've been having an issue with the rear swaying at highway speeds. Whenever I hit a dip or bump on the highway the rear sways side to side. I'm eventually going to lower it , but ran out of money doing my swap. I noticed this yesterday while it was on a ramp in the air yesterday. The rear sway bar bushings look like they're not totally "tight"around the sway bar. Could this be causing my issue? Excuse the salt, haven't washed it yet after the snow. Tia.

They're definitely not helping. I'd get some good polyurethane ones from Energy Suspension and see if it gets better.

I'm def gonna do that. Think this could be the source of my headache tho? Actually looks worse in person. The gap between the bushing and sway bar is much bigger then it appears in the pic.

I'm not sure but if you still have bad front jounce stops combined with this,I'd say those combined could very well be the problem.

I'm gonna try to order them again and hopefully they'll send the right ones this time. BTW, installed those rear stops.

Those rear ones don't do shit! You could take them out completely and probably never know. Unless you somehow manage to bottom out the rear suspension, then you'd hear a loud noise as metal to metal contact was made. But they definitely aren't going to make a difference for you.

I'm def going to be lowering it in the future.

At which point you'll need to cut the entire bracket that holds those and mount a small pancake one directly to the frame.

Small pancake metal bracket? Where do I get that? I thought with the free mod, just cut it off and you're done. I'm not gonna go crazy, just a 2-3 drop.

The "Free Travel Mod"- that bracket that your bumpstop is mounted in will need to be cut off so everything is flush with the curve of the frame. Then you drill a hole in the frame and buy a tiny "pancake" shaped flat bumpstop that's about 1/2" thick and has a stud on it and then fight like hell to reach inside of your frame to install a nut on it. LOL. It ain't easy.

I also think the bushings are not helping but, do you still have your original shocks? I'd swap them out and see if it goes away (I don't think them shocks are beefy enough for the weight of our vehicles). Also really check the track bar, control arms and all the bushings

I got mine from Tony at TBSS owners.com. I believe they have the instructions too. I cut my brackets off with a sawzall but you gotta be careful near the gas tank.

Checked all those bushings and they appeared ok. I didn't think to check the sway bar bushings tho. I noticed that yesterday on the lift. I'll try to swap the old shocks in, hopefully I can do it on my friend's lift.

Energy Suspension poly bushings are top notch, had them front & rear on the swaybars on my 95 Tahoe

My DJM front and rear swaybars and rear endlinks came with poly bushings and I have Energy Suspension front endlinks with their poly bushings. All together it makes my rig handle and respond great especially for a big ol SUV.
