Next on the list is going to a 03-06 steering wheel. The 99-02s are so hideous lol.
I guess I need to look into it before I impulse buy.

Unfortunately the swap isn't as easy as it seems. The spline on the two wheels is different, so you'd need to swap out most of the steering column, and the 00-02 airbag is 1-stage, vs the 03-06 which is 2-stage, so you'd need to get an airbag from a van or HD truck. I have seen it talked about, but I've never seen anyone go through with it, I don't think. If you can find the parts for a decent price it might be worth the swap because the 00-02 wheel is just bad.

Awesome! I want to do a set and polish them. Then throw them on a set of 33's because you hardly ever see a St on a lifted/leveled truck

Seen some have good luck with a media blast. Gets the adhesive off and the machining grooves in the surface.

If airplane stripper didn't work then I don't know what will.
Might have no choice but to take them in to get media blasted or sand blasted then have them painted or powder coated. Or you can polish them by hand by sanding and wet sanding, which takes foooorreeeever
Or buy the clad covers which kinda defeat the purpose. Evans's they look so much better without

Was researching cause I was curious myself , saw a guy used gasoline and a razor blade. It was on a newer wheel so I think the adhesive was newer and easier to remove. Yours looks older (older wheel) and glue looks cemented.
