I assume you were asking me what kind of fuel pump? Whatever the Chevy dealer put in it. I assume its stock, and it still works.
For all the talk about oil, I have always put valvoline high mileage synthetic in with whatever oil filter is on sale.
Its a few thousand shy of 600k miles now. The...
Mostly highway. Trans went out at 548k miles. Engine still never had the valve covers off. Several hubs and unjoints as well as a few other things. 100 oil changes or so........... :)
558,xxx on my 01 these days. A few months ago I finally blew up the transmission at 548k. The torrington bearing failed and upon inspection the entire transmission was trashed due to high miles. 10k on the new trans and the drive train is still going strong ;)
My 04 Z71 has 245k. These trucks last if you take care of them. I have had zero oil pressure issues since I put the O ring in. hope this thread eventually helps someone avoid a very expensive "rebuilt" just because a $3 oring goes bad.
I bought my 01 Tahoe with 100,606 miles and now it has 544,111 miles. In that time I have honestly never changed a single coolant hose, and they don't need it. I recently changed the plugs and wires for the second time as I was getting a misfire code. I changed them out when I bought it.
Trans...
Yes. The mirrors defrost. The defrost light illuminates when the button is pushed, simply no voltage to the rear. Must be a loose connection. Sounds like it will be a pain to track down. Time to dig in with the voltmeter I guess. Ugh
Yes, they do. As I said in the original post. Everything works..............but no power gets to the rear defroster. When testing the circuit with a volt meter its dead. Do these trucks have fusable links or just the fuses under the dash and on the side panel of the dash? chasing down a bad...
Unfortunately there isn't any voltage reaching the window. There is continuity in the window itself but when the button is pushed, the circuit is dead.
Couple questions.
On my 04 Z71, The rear view mirror temp gauge works when I start the vehicle, but after a while it starts going on the fritz and lighting up every light in the gauge. It will eventually go blank, then eventually start working again, and eventually on the fritz again...
The lever is visible when you flip the seat portion of the seat forward. Both seats have 2 cables. One to allow the backrest to fold foward after the seat has been flipped forward. The second is to allow the headrest to fold back. See where the cable goes into a lever and simply pull the lever...
I could be wrong but I think the codes in the glovebox would give the package breakdown, but I don't know where the decoding list is to tell. I have a 04 Z71 at home. Its definitely geared much lower than my 01 LT. I think my LT has 3.27's and the Z71 has 3.73's based on the rpm's at highway and...
A bad ujoint will often PING when going from reverse to drive, or vice versa, usually due to the bearings being completely pulverized and the 1/4" of slop left in the ujoint as a result. Sometimes that will cause the traction control light to go off when the slip happens when going from reverse...
That being said, crawl under the truck and look at the rear inner quarter panels. These things fill up with dirt from driving, get wet and solidify, trapping moisture. The drivers rear quarter on my 01 is rusted out from this, the rocker is rusting bad too. My 04 Z71 has a rotten quarter panel...
You could replace the cable...........or you could just grab the lever that the cable attaches to and pull it forward to disengage the seats to get them to fold down until you feel like completely disassembling the seats and buying a new cable. As much of a pain as it is, buying a new cable with...
It is likely your hubs. Jack the front end up and shake the front wheel. If you can shake it then the hub bearings are shot. The grinding metal rough moving feel if you spin it is also a dead giveaway but shaking it is the main deal. If its a solid hub the wheel wont shake at all. If the hub is...
haha its falling into sad shape. rear drivers quarter and rocker is starting to rust out. Several options don't work anymore, its on its 2nd drivers seat as.....well you can guess why. Its still in great shape considering but its far from pristine, and far from a head turner. I have driven it...
