Question on the Gruven tees...
With the hard pipes going to the rear heater, did you butt the blue hose to the raised lip or force it over the lip?
I'm having a helluva time trying to get the hose over the lip...the damn trans dipstick couldn't be more in the way.
thanks!
Pretty simple question, but I don't think I've seen it. Most speaker posts dive into ohms and aftermarket amps.
This truck is a 2009 with 185K on the clock, so I don't want to go bananas.
Radio is non-bose, factory headunit, front factory component speakers (with tweeters in pillar).
Rear...

Is there any way to tell which valve cover variation I have without pulling it off and looking inside?
If I pull the cover, can I clean the VLOM with carb/brake cleaner?
And eliminating DOD/AFM is done with something like the Range Tech AFM disablers, correct?
Had something similar happen 2years ago.
Swapped plug & coil to see if the problem followed and all was good.
Put a couple cans of fuel system cleaner into the tank, as I had read something about #7 injector gumming up due to the AFM baloney.
Haven't had a hiccup until now
Before it went...
Truck is an 2009 Tahoe with 5.3, 185000 miles. always runs like a top...
Got the stabilitrak doomsday warning the other night.
OBD shows P0307 (cylinder 7 misfire)
Pulled the coil & plugs from #7 & #3 to compare.
#7 is butt ugly. Can't clean that junk out of the gap around the insulator...
Morning:
Had to replace the lock actuator on my 09 tahoe last night, passenger side
(pulled one out of a silverado at the local yard...scored for $30! )
When I removed the door card, I apparently wasn't careful enough and broke the rectangular clip just below the lock plunger (?)
Now I have a...
EXP500: got too cold yesterday, I had to put it all back together so I could get to work today. Will pop it out again this weekend and start counting. Gives me something to do on Blk Friday.
pa31p: I looked at the loom and didn't see anything when it first happened. I'll pull the boot back...
Wire on defroster checked out OK. Grounds also checked OK.
I popped the fuse box out.
The pins on the back side are not marked.
Is there a diagram of the back side so I can check the pins to see if anything is shorted out?
Removing relay does not stop the draw. Should've mentioned that.
Once my coffee finishes brewing, I will go dig into the grounds and pull the fusebox.
Can't think without caffine...
Last week, went to start my 09 tahoe (180K miles) and battery was completely dead.
Battery was at least 8 years old, figured it was time to replace.
Put a new one in and it was dead overnight.
Diconnected and charged it.
Reconnect and check draw, 10amps with no key in the ignition.
Start...
FYI mine turned out to be the rear defroster. Pulled the fuse and my voltmeter went from 10A (yikes!) to almost zero. Now I need to chase down the relay location...my rig is a 2009. Guess I'll slink off to the correct forum and see if there's anything there.
Fantastic expanation...this should be a sticky at the top of every automotive electrial forum.
My brand new battery died last night after sitting for 6 hours. I think I'm disconnecting the alternator, looking for parasitic leakeage, then reconnecting it and checking again.
Guys: For what it's worth, the Lisle 20400 did the trick.
Not super hi-quality tool (steel's kinda soft on the piece that goes over the end of the strut shaft), but it got the job done.
Was pretty inexpensive too.
Thanks for the tips...took a look at that thread Swath, I'm trying not to rip he boot, want to keep the new england salt off things as much as I can
I think the Lisle 20400 is what I need. Calling my parts guy tomorrow to see if he can get one.
Hi guys...
Struggling to get the 15mm strut nut installed on a new set of 5100's.
I'm reusing the top strut mount and insulator, and the nut is really recessed in the mount. I can't grab it with anything (wrench, pliers, needle nose, etc) and hold the top 6mm flats on the strut shaft at the...
Happy 4th everyone.
Got an 09 tahoe. During winter, passenger footwell is drafty/cold breeze flowing. Wife complains constantly.
Anyone have the same issue? Point me to a link on how to correct this?
I've found some similar posts but they are for earlier years (pre04).
Got some down time...
