    Part Identification please....

In the GMT400's power steering coolers were common on 2500, 3500, and 3500HD's, w/hydroboost. The GMT800 Suburbans and Tahoes usually had one. A lot of folks mistake it for a engine oil cooler. The trans cooler looks like a fin and plate cooler, never seen one of those on GMT800' and 900's...

Cranks like its out of time

Because the starter has been worked on, it sounds more like a ground issue. Check grounds, check for broken or corroded ground wires. Check the negative battery cable where it grounds to the block. Then the wires to the solenoid.

What Oil Filter Brand Do You Swear By?

That's because the K&N (and various other synthetic filters) begins to restrict flow with any heavier viscosity than 0-20.........

    99 Tahoe Steering Box Issues

All LT Suburban/Tahoes and SLE and SLT Yukon XL/Yukons for 1997-99 came with EVO as standard. EVO was optional on LS and SL trim package, but was included in almost all of them. Fleet sales generally didn't have EVO. The original AC Delco steering gears for EVO had a different part number...

    99 Tahoe Steering Box Issues

This^^^ Although I have been told the AC Delco remans are better than most reman steering gears, I have yet to find a reman that works like the original factory gear. Redtop and Bluetop have mixed reviews, some folks have had durability issues. Unfortunately, I don't know anybody who makes...

Flashing engine light / no power under WOT or heavy load

Good grief. No wonder your fuel pump died, and not doing the new one any good either. Change the fuel filter every 20k or so--regardless of the recommended service interval. These trucks can be picky about electric/electronic components--AC Delco or Delphi only. And particularly picky about...

    97 4x4- can't put gas in truck

That's what I was going to suggest. Take the engine or trans dipstick, WIPE IT OFF THOROUGHLY, and slide it past the filler hose and into the tank.

Which petrol pump can you recommend to me that doesn't break after a year? Tahoe 07 LTZ

I was wondering if this was one of the years/motors that didn't have fuel filters. Thanks!

Which petrol pump can you recommend to me that doesn't break after a year? Tahoe 07 LTZ

The most common reason for fuel pump failure are plugged or partially plugged fuel filters. The fuel pump doesn't necessarily fail immediately when the filter is clogged/partially clogged, but can happen months after replacing the fuel filter. When I say partially plugged even a modicum of...

Something is clicking under the dash

Another possibility is the parking brake is just barely engaging the DRL shutoff. In the past when I have engaged the parking brake, say only one click, the shutoff switch will buzz or sometimes click. Pushing the parking brake down a few clicks and see if it stops clicking.

    Oil Pan Gasket Leak

You absolutely need to put RTV in the corners where the gaskets meet. Don't be shy about the amount, either.......

No 4hi/lo in reverse, only in forward gears

Edited: Answered my question, it does have an actuator. Almost sounds as though the actuator is releasing when reverse is engaged. As mentioned before, are the switch lights blinking when in reverse?

No 4hi/lo in reverse, only in forward gears

Do the Denali's of that era have an actuator on the front axle?

Rear Differential Cover - to RTV or not RTV the gasket?

I'm thinking yours still has the 10 bolt diff.... Felpro gasket, dress both sides of the gasket with Permatex Gear Oil RTV. Or the black RTV. After installing the gasket let it sit most of the day or overnight before filling with gear oil. The latest friction modifiers in various lubes/oils...

    Door sag

Just put wheels on your roof, drive upside down and your doors won't sag........ Factory 4L60E's last roughly 150k, depending on maintenance, use, and abuse. That's 50% longer than most TH350's back in the day that the 4L60 is based on. The problem seems to be a lot of these rebuilds don't...

    What causes this?

Yes. AC Delco or Delphi. The aftermarket caps leak........ Also, I suspect out-of-spec screws that come with the aftermarket caps contribute to the distributor base cracking around the screw holes. And, AC Delco or Delphi on anything electrical or electronic such as sensors. Other...

    Bad Head Gasket

That's what I thought when I read your original post. The intake gasket generally leaks to the outside (usually in the rear) but can also leak coolant to the inside. If the intake gasket is leaking, make sure you do't pump too much water into the motor when pressure testing.
