Door Grab handle repair
Holding up as good as when I repaired it 3 years ago this week! I didn’t mess with wedging steel pieces into place. Anyone who’s worked with JB knows it’s rock hard when it drys. The hi temp black silicone sealed the repair tight And you can’t even tell the repair was done. -

Yep all three of them. I didn't build it Naw, I currently work in Product Engineering for commercial vehicles like Mack, Peterbilt, Navistar. Im gonna git my CDL one of these days. Bring him or her on big boy..OTTO has giant teeth that go way way back in that skull. It wouldn't be pretty...- Bill D

The Avalanche is a suburban with its roof cut off and a "C ring" installed with some plastic covers along with "B" cups and "C" cups (which is pretty darn girlie in itself!) It looks good. IMO as a insider at the time the GM truck engineering team was eliminated in the 2005 “convergence”. Can’t help but feel that the “Truckness” took a back seat after the Car group took over. This groups idea of a beautiful car as below was carried over into the future...- Bill D

1st never said or even insinuated anything about Production vehicles. 2nd truck was not between 8 and 9 mile roads and Woodward , it was up in Bloomfield which as I’m sure you know is quite a measurable distance from ugh...8 Mile. How many breakdowns that truck have 3rd I have driven at least...- Bill D

Perhaps, but the fact that there were two GM trucks with flashing lights (either of which could have brought fuel) blocking the truck into the turnaround suggests that it was more involved than adding a couple of gallons to get it back to the Warren Tech Center, they were waiting for a tow...- Bill D

I agree with you in principle. I started to work for GM in 92. I left in 07. My final launch was on the GMT 900. The best trucks were prior to 94. The hydro-formed frames started with the GMT 800 in 94 - 06. GM merged its car and truck engineering divisions in 2005. The GMT 900 was the...- Bill D

They all have steel as the base material! My wife had a 2003 GMT 800 Avalanche it had a steel bumper it WAS a girlie vehicle! And BTW it RUSTED too.- Bill D

I dont disagree, worked for General motors and have built and driven many mules and prototypes. I seriously doubt that vehicle was a "Mule" it looked like at least a gamma or non salable build. At that stage I would expect those kind of troubles to be detected at Milford not Woodward ;)- Bill D

I was in Detroit last week and driving down Woodward ave and witnessed a full camo 2021 or 2022 suburban broke down in a Michigan left turn around. It had the GM police trucks With their flashing light blocking it On both sides while waiting for a tow truck. I thought about Turing around to...- Bill D

well I won’t argue with you on this one but although this truck is quite bad looking it misses the point. From a purely philosophical stand point I’m comparing the GMT 900’s “Truckness” compared to the ideal concept of “Truck” the same as the concept of “Tree” as in you know it when you see it...- Bill D

Driver Bottom Leather Seat Cover and Pad Install
Take a look at the photos I posted earlier in the thread. 4 bolts hold the seat in. Far easier to remove the seat where you can turn it on it’s side To access both side clips etc. Side access very tough o my Z71, in any event you will be on your knees the entire time. Seen a few videos ... -

Best money spent to date. Every drive feels like new truck because of what it feels like to climb on this “new” seat.. My opinion you must change both leather and foam to get the great result. -
