Not that I feel it’s the problem for the leak but the torque for the M8 bolts from the pan to the block is 18 FT LBS. And the 2 long M6 bolts are 106 IN LBS.
Without actually seeing it the leak is either a piece of trash on the pan rail, not enough rtv in the corners or did you make sure the...
Really?? I’m definitely not tightening it enough then. 1/2” impact??
Just to clarify; on the tool that sets the tension / preload on the bushings? I had NO idea that I needed to put them that tight.
Thanks for the info.
I’ve tightened mine up 3 times in 10k miles. Still clunking. I guess I’m not tightening them up enough. I guess I will give it another try. Either they will quiet up or I’ll break em. Lol.
Before jacking up the truck make a mental note of the position of the upper and lower control arms.
Take the brake caliper off and hang it off to the side.
Take the spindle off.
Remove the strut assembly.
Take the sway bar endlinks off.
Remove both control arms.
Install the new arms.
Put...
Plastic is probably the timing chain tensioner. Metal maybe from the VVt actuator or from the tensioner too.
Best guess although I’ve never seen this happen on an LS.
Running bad or any CEL? Did you remove the pan already?
Looks like you need to pull the front timing cover.
Sorry I see that...
Yes.
Check both ends of the shifter cable. Most common failure.
There are places that sell just the bushings now so it’s much easier and cheaper than replacing the entire cable for just the ends.
I think you are safe either way.
Do you want the windows to look separated by color or do you like the wrap around glass look?
But if it were mine I would do black cause of how small the side windows are on the Tahoe. If it were a Burb I might do the gray.
+10 on voting for keeping them black on light colors. Esp white.
The only thing worse is when people paint the original waffle style ones light colors.
That fuse holder could have melted like that from a poor connection inside the fuse holder. All it has is 2 female slide in connectors.
I had a customers car with a loose wire to the battery terminal that melted the lead on the terminal cause it was loose.
If it’s putting out 36 amps I have to use a 40. I’m the one who hasn’t had a problem in 5 years. And my fans run on high ALL the time here in Louisiana.
Don’t stress over it too much.
I’ve been running the original FAL controller on my fans for at least 5 years now. The only problem I had was right after the install. It blew the 30amp supplied fuse. After putting an amp probe on it and seeing that it pulls 36 amps I changed the fuse to a 40 and...
Get the hubs checked. It could cause the rubbing noise if they are bad enough.
What year is your truck?
The typical repair when people open up the module is to repair the solder joints that affect the power supply to the module which is always accompanied by (If memory serves me) the C0265...
Have you tried just replacing them with new ones? My hatch takes alot of force to pull it down since I replaced mine with some from Rockauto. I think they were monroes. Mine is an 04 but I don’t think that should matter and I’m 6’7 275. Incase you were wondering if I was a little guy. LOL.
Can’t really hear anything in the video but my 04 5.3 started a little piston slap around the same mileage. Really nothing that can be done about it.
I bought a brand new 03 Ford 5.4 that sounded waaay worse that that at 12k miles. Needless to say I got rid of that truck real quick.
Did you lube those orings up with some petroleum jelly or at least some oil when you installed them?
The plastic is probably just a spacer to put the oring in the correct place in the bore.
I have seen those regulators leak through the vacuum hose before. Hopefully it didn’t slowly over fuel...
I would go find a gravel / wet road in a safe area and jam the brakes a few times to cycle the system. Make the abs system work. I would do that before I started throwing parts at the truck.
Are you using all leds?
If so do you really need the vehicle running the entire time?
If it's a city vehicle then who cares but I wouldn't want my personal vehicle idling for that long.
