    Verdict is in. It wasn't the cluster. Apparently there is another pressure switch on the top of the motor next to the firewall that requires pulling the intake to get to it. That one went bad. No damage to the engine. Whew!

    To be honest, I hadn't even thought about the HID's option. I went ahead and ordered the kit, which should be in tomorrow or Monday. If it doesn't look like I'll get to install them in the near term due to the all the holiday related happenings, I might pursue HIDs.
