For sure! Would love to share what I know so far. I've been slow walking things this year because I've been traveling a lot for work in January and the Yukon has been in the garage for a month. But I'm having issues with my daily driver - looks like it may be a bad oil filter??? Luckily I...
Hi guys,
Hope you've all been doing well!
Wanted to come back to one of the issues I've never completely resolved - and going back to my original post:
"When I hit the gas, the truck hesitates for a split second where it feelslike it hits gear a little hard (gear is a complete assumption)...
I'm a little late in saying thank you to all of you that joined me in refreshing the Yukon! We had a flawless trip with it to Florida and back! I really do owe you all so much. We're already talking about taking it down again at the holidays next year!
The only observation I really had was...
I actually hadn't touched that spare in 13 years and believe it or not that hoist still worked without issues (a little rusty now) with just a very light kick to the tire to lower it. I was expecting much worse!
I just went through this getting ready for a long road trip.
My tire was original from 2010 - it looked fine (no cracks), but I went ahead and replaced it since this is our primary family hauling vehicle. If it was only me, I probably would have made a different decision.
I also took the...
Ok, I'm getting ready for my next big investments in getting a long life out of the truck.
I think I found a shop with good reviews and had a quick discussion with them today - they seemed to be very familiar with the 6L80 and immediately mentioned the billet TC, so they are somewhat familiar...
Thanks for all of the responses!
Are you all familiar with anyone on the boards from the Detroit or Toledo area that may be able to recommend a good transmission shop? I'll also do some research on my side as well, but it sure would be good to have a reference. I've never had any transmission...
Was starting to think through some of my next repairs and PM. Are there any other weak points I should be considering? Remember, my goal is to keep running this truck for a long, long time.
I'm thinking I want to address the broken exhaust manifold bolt. In talking with my trusted shop (owner...
I know - it sounded like it was because of a bad experience
I think there must have been a bad experience of some sort - that was my interpretation of what they said.
This was back when I had seen their videos online and I was dealing with electrical gremlins for about 5 years and needed help.
Ok, figured it out and it was the dumbest thing. Actually, my wife solved it.
We started playing a DVD that was in the head unit to check the pop down screen and then stopped it which brought her to this screen:
She then started randomly changing the bottom buttons from surround to rear...
Going to take a look at these fuses and the rest today. Thank you for the tips, Wes!
I'm even more weak when it comes to radio stuff so appreciate the point in a direction to check!
We actually just arrived in Orlando. Took a route that kept us closer east so we could stop in Charlotte. We're jumping on a cruise in a few days.
That is so smart on looking at listings along the way - when you say marketplace, are you looking at Facebook?
I definitely would want to meet up...
No, I had the switch turned down for like 6 hours and everything was great until it flipped to full brightness on its own.
Wait - I didn't read that right. I don't know for certain if auto headlights turned off or not. It's possible.
So, mechanically, the truck was awesome. Had no problems making our first stop in Charlotte so the kids could see one of their friends.
But ran into an issue with our new 2nd row speakers. There's a little back story, so bear with me.
I just started wearing glasses for the first time last...
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Later tonight we leave on our trip! We'll be battling the storm that runs all the way down from Michigan to Florida, but I feel everything that you all have helped me get done on the truck will get us there safely!
I cannot put into words how grateful we are for the...
Finally finished the passenger door sound deadening and the dB measurement went from 77-78 dB to 74-75 dB. Not quite as quiet as the driver side door (72-73 dB), but definitely shows improvement!
Dropped in the Infinity Kappa speakers in the a-pillar tweeter locations and the front doors and it...
Yes, those are some of my next targets. When I was working on the cabin air filter, I pulled up some of the carpet up front and saw the wheel wells right there - I'll definitely be getting those and the floors up front since it's easy - trying to think through the firewall still and where access...
Yeah, I'm really surprised there's that much difference between the doors. I'm not putting much into this since I didn't have a before reading, but if I see the drop on the passenger side when we're done, then we can have a little validation.
I'll download decibelX and compare to my device...
