Cannot find a place to run wire through firewall (2011 tahoe)

I found a factory grommet that I could use, just next to the brake booster, but I can't for the life of me "find" it on the inside. I am shining light through the hole as well. Nothing. I suspect that there are layers on the inside between the back of that hole and hte void above the brake...

    Snow performance - seriously impressed

I was driving my 2011 Tahoe in the Poconos over the weekend, between 1 and 2 feet of unplowed snow on main roads. Plows were trying but couldn't keep up. I'm running Cooper Discoverer AT3s* (3 peak snow rated) and had ZERO traction issues with the center diff locked. I went skiing at Jack Frost...

Is 15.2/15.1 volts when it's not that cold weird?

I know there's dynamic voltage charging with things like battery charge, cold, etc impacting how it responds, but 34 degrees F with a fully charged battery seems weird to stay at 15.1/15.2 volts for a 10 min drive. Is this going to fry something? Eventually it got down to a more reasonable...

    Rear wheelwell rust bubbles...

Just noticed this today... I can wirewheel/sand, but repainting will never look right without a pro. This is the only spot I've seen thus far.

    reattach door rub guard trim...

what kind of adhesive is everybody using for this? Silicone seems crude, epoxy is too permanent... I need to also figure out how to hold pressure against it while whatever I use cures. Ideas?

Describe to me how the 2-speed transfer case works... 2011 Tahoe 5.3

Coming from the jeep and Land Rover worlds, I understand their transfer case offerings well... School me on what's in my 2011 Tahoe (5.3, rear locking diff). Auto obviously engages the front diff but on the transfer case side, is it just an open center diff? Viscous coupling? Clutched center...

    Diff fluid change, which gaskets

I'm trying to change my differential fluid, was going to use Synthetic 75W-90 for both (Yes I know the front technically calls for dino 80W-90), but the question of diff cover gaskets has left me scratching my head. How would a 2011 Tahoe LT 4WD have multiple choices as per RockAuto? I get that...

wiring path from engine bay to cab...

I cannot for the life of me find an easy path for this. Trying to wire an airhorn and some LEDs behind the grill, but getting a trigger/switch wire(s) into the cab is proving difficult. I tried multiple times to use the grommet on the firewall near the brake booster, but I cannot find on the...

Tired front struts, already replaced the rear with Bilsteins (not available for the front)

Any recommendations? Stock height, 99% street driving. I'm a big fan of the bilsteins I put in the rear, but unfortunately I can't find equivalents for the front. Would be doing a spring/strut assembly for ease of install. AC Delco gold? KYB? Monroe?

HVAC controls not telling blower to turn on, intermittent

Wife texted me saying the 2011 Tahoe we bought recently isn't enabling the front blower fans, but rear controls worked fine. I got in today and everything is fine. Should I pull the dash apart and make sure there isn't anything obvious or is an easier check to pull the HVAC fuse and wait a bit?

replacement 7 blade + 4 pin plug? - searched but didn't find anything

Does anybody make a (factory) replacement trailer wiring plug for the GMT900 7-blade plug on my 2011 tahoe or is this the best option? I'd like to have both available but hate adapting adapters.

    2011 Tahoe Android radio swap

Picked up a chinese Android radio that supposedly is a factory fit. Install after laying everything out and pulling off the trim was quite easy. The issue (apparently known) is the rear has a buzzing and very little sound coming from the speakers. Its almost like all of the sound is bridged to...

OBD tweak tool (not a tune) - tried a search already

Hello All, New owner to a 2011 Tahoe and I was looking around to see if a tool similar to the OBDeleven used in the VW/Audi world exists for GM trucks. Short version- its an OBD scanner tool, but it also unlocks hidden/disabled features, removes chimes and other tweaks. Anything out there?
