    It's a pretty big problem with Castech 706 and 862s. GM had a TSB on it that covered 5.3L from 01-06.

    This was my cover with just under 3k miles after what was suppose to have been a complete engine rebuild, the heads pasts the cold test after heads were shaved, I had the chemical test done and it came back antifreeze in the heads. [/URL][/IMG]

    Castech heads came in 706 and 862, but more in the 706. Never hurts to check them though. If it's not a head problem I would at least pick up a catch can, that will help with the build up.

    I just replaced both heads due to the castech problem, both were cracked and both passed a pressure test when the engine was cold, once warmed up they wouldn't hold pressure.
