Wow, they really give it that GMT900 look.... ;)

    nbs tahoe yukon cargo cover

When I looked into these for the one I picked up for my yukon I found out that there are two styles (other than color options) for the NBS vehicles. One for the Tahoe/Yukon, and one for the Suburban/Yukon XL. Since the backs are different, they mount at different points which changes the width...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Not so much what I did to my GMT800 today, but for it. I finally decided I had done enough work to my Yukon to pull it all together in a build thread. Mals' 2005 Yukon Denali Maintenance / Build Thread Most of the posts that I put up on it so far are expanded versions of things I already...

Mals' 2005 Yukon Denali Maintenance / Build Thread

When I purchased the Yukon one of the items on the to-do list was that the back HVAC did not work properly. I tracked it down to what I thought was a bad air blend door actuator. After watching some videos it seemed pretty straight forward, just removing all the interior trim and panels to...

Mals' 2005 Yukon Denali Maintenance / Build Thread

Changed the fluid in both my front and rear differentials and the transfer case. While I had it apart I installed a new cover on the rear diff and used a LubeLocker gasket when I put it back together. This was my first servicing of the diffs and transfer case since buying the Yukon. The...

This grille was damaged when I got it last year, so I repaired the cracks with epoxy and sprayed it with a semi-gloss Rustoleum designed for plastic. I used Scotch Brite to clean the surface, and then wet sanded the the chrome mesh before I masked it off and painted it. For the damaged struts...

Mals' 2005 Yukon Denali Maintenance / Build Thread

I picked up a nice clean Vortec 6000 cover from @TheAutumnWind for the cost of shipping plus some beer money. While I had it off, I thought it would be a good time to install a new intake tube, so I grabbed an Airaid MIT 200-919 from Advance Auto Parts. They list it for $145, but I stacked a 30%...

Mals' 2005 Yukon Denali Maintenance / Build Thread

When I purchased my Yukon it had a set of dealer installed 20” six spoke GM 5239 wheels. They weren’t quite my style, and a life in New England salty winters had damaged them to the point that the chrome was flaking off. After months of searching Craigslist a set of NNBS 20” GM 5307 wheels off a...

Mals' 2005 Yukon Denali Maintenance / Build Thread

One thing that I didn't realize after only test driving my Yukon during the day was that most all of the incandescent bulbs in the dash and steering controls were burned out. In the end I ended up replacing the 8 mini-bulbs in the steering wheel controls, the 11 mini-bulbs in the heating control...

Mals' 2005 Yukon Denali Maintenance / Build Thread

When I purchased my Yukon, I noticed that there was an exhaust leak at the manifolds. Once I really looked into it, I realized that it was because four of the bolts, both fronts and both backs, were broken off. Three of the bolts were broken off at the bolthead with enough of the bolt stem...

Mals' 2005 Yukon Denali Maintenance / Build Thread

Hello all - I purchased my 2005 6.0L AWD Yukon Denali in June 2016 with 155K on the odometer. I’ve been active on and off here on the forum over the past year and a half, but thought it was time to put all the work I’ve done in one place. Mostly for my own benefit, but also hopeful for the use...

Denali braided ss brake line kit

I just picked up a 6 line set from Goodridge 14196 on Amazon for my 2005 Yukon Denali. That's the set that the fit guide suggested for my Yukon with StabiliTrak. Definitely double check that it is the same set for your XL before ordering.

EFI Live AutoCal Tuner - SOLD

I have an EFI Live AutoCal unit currently listed up on Ebay. To be perfectly honest, I purchased this off ebay myself. It was poorly listed, and the seller didn't know what they had or what it was. I already have used AutoCal unit from Black Bear, but couldn't pass up the deal on this one when...

    Manual trans swap unpopular?

My wife's main complaint with our Yukon is that it's an automatic. It's the first automatic car we've owned since I taught her to drive stick when we were dating 22 years ago. Maybe I can sell her on this idea when our 4L65e gives up one day.

    Brake hose replacement

I've done plenty of brake bleeding in the past, but this will be my first time on the Yukon. I was worried that since the typical Goodridge brake line kit only has 5 lines, and the set for vehicles with StabiliTrak have 6, that the extra line would be deadheaded by the StabliTrak system. I...

    Brake hose replacement

I just ordered this set of lines from Goodridge for my 2005 Yukon, and hope to complete my brake upgrades over the long Thanksgiving weekend. Did you have any issue bleeding out all the new brake lines without having to activate the ABS module or StabilaTrak system with a Tech2? I picked up a...

    GMC Yukon/Sierra HD hood mod

I recently asked @MannyB in another thread how he went about fitting a Silverado HD hood on his Denali in another thread. Since my hood is damaged, and I eventually plan on having it repaired or replace it with a clean junkyard find I've toyed with the idea of doing the HD mod if I come across...
