    I've got a 99 Tahoe (see signature) that has a 2" receiver on the front. What is this typically used for? I could see it very occasionally being hand for pulling a trailer out, but not really anymore than the conventional way. Any ideas? Was it designed for another use?

    Good info and reading kcb37. Thank you. It's been a few days and still no re-appearance of the check engine light since clearing the code the first time. Good news for me, I guess, but I still wonder what caused it to trip in the first place.

    Mine is the same, so that must be standard on these. Are you talking about that indent on top of the dash above the airbag? I can't imagine anything placed there staying put under any kind of braking or acceleration!
