With these you can slide the towers in and out... I set to the recommended specs for my vehicle per yakima and tried moving in and out a bit to see if that helped and it did not. I got them mounted but it was so tight the rubber is crumpled up out of the way (sorry it's raining here -

Anyone install Yakima Sightline roof rack?
I'm trying but for the life of me I can't get the #55 sightclips to hook on to the rail on my 21 suburban. It's SUPER tight, I did get it but it wrinkled up the rubber padding and just seems like it's not working properly. Wondering if anyone else had the same trouble and what you did to fix it? -
