Removal & Reinstallation of "Roof Panel Joint Finish Molding" -- Any Advice/Experience?

Y'all, After a year and a half of ownership, I'm finally about to treat my Tahoe's exterior to some TLC. I'd like to take care of as many nooks and crannies as possible, so I'll be removing & reinstalling various pieces. As part of that, does anyone have any advice or experience with the...

    Front Swaybar Qustion

As already mentioned, you'll have more body lean, but more importantly, if you eliminate the front sway bar while retaining the rear sway bar, you will be increasing the roll stiffness bias towards the rear, which increases the tendency to oversteer. That's the TL;DR version. For more, here's...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Where'd you find the decals? I've got some older anodized Wilwoods on my '79 AMC Spirit that was one of my Dad's track cars, and one red caliper is now soft pink! It'd be nice to redo them with fresh graphics.

Any Advice/Experience with Cleaning A Jittery Volume Knob Encoder?

Y'all, The volume knob of the stock radio (w/ navigation) in my '13 LTZ causes the volume to skip in large steps and/or jump back-and-forth. Obviously, it's an encoder instead of a rheostat. Does anyone have any advice/experience with cleaning the encoder (or even replacing it)? Thanks in...

Does lid on center console have a spring

The lid on my '13 LTZ has springs. They're only good for keeping the lid fully up and don't provide any "pop" when you release the latch.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Usually, yes. I removed the sun visors in my '57 Chevy when I had the Wink in it, but the top front of the windshield in Tri-Fives is so far forward that I really didn't miss them. If you saw gaps, it was installed incorrectly. Properly positioned, it appears seamless.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Agreed. If I didn't care about the functionality of the sunvisors, I'd have a 5-panel Wink in my Tahoe (and most every other vehicle). If you've never experienced a Wink, they're incredible for situational awareness. Not being day/night or dimmable is a major drawback, though.

In my '13 LTZ, it's in the DIC. The less garbage up there, the better, IMO.

    Weird full shut down- Update

This is true for alternating current, but not for direct current. The skin effect is basically nonexistent in the context of this thread.

Removing interior windshield pillar trim black goo

I'd try 3M Adhesive Cleaner 08984. It's great for getting stuff like this off and almost never damages paint or plastic, IME. Not cheap, but likely find it extremely useful for many tasks. It can be ordered on teh interwebs, but try a local paint supply house (make sure to get the nozzle with...

Any Suggestions for Wall Hooks (or Other Methods) for Storing Removed 3rd-Row Seats?

Y'all, I rarely need to have the 3rd-row seats in my Tahoe, so most of the time they're sitting in the garage, flat. I'd like to get them off the floor and out of the way up on a wall. Obviously, I can go to a big box store and look through the available options for wall hooks and brackets...

Ditto. If I didn't, there'd be five vehicles' worth (six if you count a trailer) and two houses' worth of keys in my pocket.

    Weird full shut down- Update

If it ends up being the ignition switch and you're one of those folks who has a mass of other keys and doodads that hang off the ignition key, slim it down to the minimum normally required for operating your truck. It's rarely as bad as the situation Ford had when folks' ignitions were catching...

An Emergency "Get Home Checklist" for Our GMT900s Would Be Useful, IMO

Thanks for the input, but what do you mean by "that exact thing" I didn't do?

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

From what I've read on the HPTuners forum, modifying throttle response in the GM ECU can cause it to throw codes, as there's some form of internal checking. The Banks item is nice for a couple of reasons: 1) Since it's connected to the OBDII port, it knows what gear you are in and will...

Aluminum / XFE NNBS Front Suspension Rebuild

Does that bump/pad interfere with the dust shield? I know it's too late for your situation, but the bump/pad can be machined off, the dust shield modified, or the corresponding dust shield used (assuming doing so doesn't lead to more cascading changes).

    Issue at a gas station

Is there a particular line coming off the canister that's the culprit, or does it fail internally and spread the pellets into all/multiple lines? If it's the former, installing a 100-micron fuel "pre filter" might be good insurance.

Any Experiences with The LuK TorCon TC0017 Torque Converter?

Thanks for the info, @MWD_CTSV . I have disabled lockup in 1-4 with my original converter and intend to reenable lockup (but with zero slip) when I install a new converter, so I'll have to find out more info about whether their clutch material can be used with zero slip.

Any Experiences with The LuK TorCon TC0017 Torque Converter?

Y'all, In one of Summit's latest mini catalogs, I ran across the Luk TorCon TC0017. Here's a page on the Sonnax site about it, and a page on an industry site about it (yes, these are both clearly marketing). So, does anyone have any experience with this particular converter? Any input on...

You drove your rigs adjusted that way for specific rational purposes, not because it made you feel good to see the side of your vehicle or because Grandpa told you to do that. We're really talking about different contexts, not disagreeing.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Time for some proseletyzing I do every time this subject comes up anywhere! The reason you're getting blinded by headlights in your side mirrors is because you were "taught" (actually "told" -- there's a difference) to adjust your side mirrors so you can see the sides of your vehicle, most...

It's imperative to know what grease base is being used, as many types won't mix. You'd be shortening the lifespan if you use the wrong type.
