That's exactly how I'd like it to function. It looks like I would just need two of the modules and 2 cases? Since I'd only be using 3 bulbs, I would just wire in channels 1,2,3? They don't have any install or descriptions on the page. Thanks for the lead!
I used Superwrap spray (formerly called Autodip), which is a gloss black spray-on vinyl. I also used their gloss coat to add more protection. It's been over a year and still holds up pretty well. I think it looks a lot nicer than Plastidip.
The modules have a little glitch I'm need to trouble shoot. The outer 194 bulbs are quickly flashing with the first bulb, so they're firing 1+3, 2, 3. Doesn't look terrible, but it shouldn't be doing that.
These are the switchbacks...
I replaced the chrome pieces that I could (mirror caps, door handles) and sprayed what I couldn't (wheels, trim, emblems), but left a little bit to break up the monochromatic look.
I did the DRL mod using the tutorial here about a year ago that ties both bulbs together to function as DRL/Parking/Signal lights, and I was generally pretty happy with it. I liked the added volume that the lights had when working together. After seeing Kbuskill's sequential mod, I was inspired...
Yours was my inspiration to figure this out. The only difference is that I have both bulbs functioning as DRL/Parking/Signal lights. I wanted to now make the signals sequential like yours while retaining the other functions.
I bought them tinted. Looks to be a pretty good quality spray on tint. Not super dark, but dark enough to tone down the bright red. Lit bulbs only look marginally different.
I like using the dome lights, but I didn't like the bright white LEDs I had that let everyone see me at night. I have a...
Made some lighting changes. Tinted tail lights, red interior LEDs, and white vanity mirror LEDs. Also found a super cheap power fold mirror donor ($25) and replaced the motor in my mirror in about 30 minutes.
The tail lights is a subtle change, but cleans up the rear quite a bit. Light output...
Found a super cheap donor mirror on Facebook for $25. I did a direct swap of the entire motor assembly and I have power fold back again. Once I took the donor mirror apart, taking the second mirror apart was easy. I'm glad I didn't need to take the motor apart. I'm sure it'll go out again at...
Did you accidentally hit the button on the center stack that turns them off? I did that once with a water bottle that fell over, before I knew what that button did. I was looking at fuses before I read about that button.
Got tired of the glare on the screen when I was using the backup camera, so I made a hood for it. First image is the view from the my eyeline. I may modify it a bit so it doesn't cut off the screen, but then again, that might defeat the purpose of the hood.
I covered my reflectix with cheap Walmart quilted fabric. I leave the cargo window panels on all the time so I wanted it to look a bit more finished and invisible from outside.
That's a great idea! Any chance you have a photo of how you wire in the sequential module? I've already converted my lights to switchbacks so both lights turn on as DRLs and flash at the same time as signals. Thanks!
