    2WD Z71?

For my application, a 2wd Z71 is like teets on a boar. My first thought was the seller of the one I was looking at, was trying to pump the value with a foax option. Seen it a number of times with boats. In a 4wd, I would not care either way, if it was a Z71.

    Center console.....paint?

If you have an body shop supply store local, they can likely mix the exact interior color using the GM color code found on the option label.

    2WD Z71?

    Can a 05 2WD burb have the Z71 option? I though the Z71 was an off-road package on 4WD.

    Weird LED bulb issue.

front and side markers are often wired in series. This works with incandescent bulb, but not LEDs. Look at a schematic for those suspect bulbs. If in series, you will need to re-wire to parallel.

Not even my mechanic can figure this out - video attached

Likely a front wheel speed sensor. Seen a ton of them where the wire strands break inside the insulation at the point they move the most steering and suspension travel. Scan too will let you see which wheel drops to 0 while the truck is still moving.

    Upgrading alternator, upgrade wiring?

Nothing against a little over engineering, but 1/0 alt supply would be right for a 400 amp alternator! Hell, thats a gas powered generator at that point :p

    Upgrading alternator, upgrade wiring?

A higher output alternator, does need to have a supply cable thats capable of handling its amperage. So I would inspect the existing cable and see what gauge it is. DO some math (or google cheater chart for current capacity) and see if you need to upgrade the cable, for the future alt. Does it...

2002 lousy tin can sounding stereo

In my buddy's 01 I did for his son, I installed a pair of Kicker KS 6.5 components in the front, KS 6.5 coaxial in the rear doors. Comp 12 2 ohm in a small sealed enclosure, all powered by CXA600.5. Used a Farenheit TI-651B head unit. The Metra 72-4586 speaker harness adapters are less then...

2002 lousy tin can sounding stereo

Yes, you need to remove the door panels. You can buy speaker adapter plugs that connect to the truck speaker harness that you can connect to the new aftermarket speaker. No cutting/splicing of the factory speaker harness.

2002 lousy tin can sounding stereo

Not at all hard to believe that the OEM mi-bass woofers are blown. With a little work, you can isolate them and listen for sure. A nice pair of components for the front stage, a pair of coaxials for the rear, then a 12" to round it out. Drive it all with a 5 or 6 chnl amp and fresh head unit.

    5.3L valve train rattle

Thanks for the input. I passed on this one at this point. Too many unknowns that could consume a great deal of my time on the back end of the deal. I feel its worth spending a little more on the front end on one that has a better chance of less time put in on the back end. I only have a couple...

    5.3L valve train rattle

No worries, I may not have been clear on that part. idle is fine, just interested on the faint rattle at higher engine idle speed

    5.3L valve train rattle

Idles high, cause I leaned on the throttle to idle it up to listed for noise. idle speed is normal.

    5.3L valve train rattle

Looking at a high mileage 5.3L At about 1500 rpm idle, there was a slight/low volume upper engine rattle. Not like a single lifter, it was a faster rate then one or two and not that pronounced. I seem to recall a TSB or at least some rumors about it, from way back, on this, but cant dig...

    04 with cluster thats out

Looking at an 04 Tahoe and the cluster is out. No mileage or gauge function. My question is: Is the mileage stored off-board in the BCM or PCM or only in the cluster? If I do need to swap the cluster, with the mileage be shared from some other module? Or if the Mileage is only stored in the...

    Soon to be Tahoe owner

Just joined as im in search of a Tahoe as my replacement work/tow vehicle and have some questions. Spent about 20 as a tech, manager and instructor, but been out of the game professionally for quite some time. My trailblazer was totaled in Aug, and I need a replacement SUV. Figured the Tahoe...
