    5.7 oil filter

IIRC, the PF47 is the short filter and the PF51 is the long filter. There is not a 1 qt difference there. With that said, I always prefer the larger filter when it fits. I run the longer filter on my 03 5.3L

Topped off my oil level with a quart of synthetic oil.

If I need a quick top-off and im out of the "normal" oil, ill pour in what I got. No worries about it. So it uses a qrt every 700-800 miles? Do you do a lot of hiway miles? My around town consumption is MUCH less then when im doing 65-70 for extended periods. Like almost no consumption...

    Flex fuel or gas?

I would not argue against this one bit, cheap insurance. However, my experience with GM fuel pumps is that when they start to fail and pull more amps, the body side connector and tank assembly receptacle start to burn/melt. Had a lot of trucks come back on the hook with in a month of a new pump...

    Flex fuel or gas?

Based on the VIN the OP posted, its an 03. My 03 F/F has an inline fuel filter canister

    Flex fuel or gas?

Have you confirmed a VIN match on at least 2 other locations on the truck? Like dash and door match and dash and frame match, etc?

    Need advice...or a good mechanic

My 03 changed language a few times while cranking, and traced it to a failing battery. Oil leaks can come from any number of sources. You can buy dye to pour in the oil thats then seen as it leaks with goggles and a light. best to pressure wash the engine first, then put some miles on it...

    Fog Lamp Wiring Question

The OEM fogs were incandescent bulbs with a pretty decent amp draw. As long as the new lights will bot draw more then the circuit is fused for, you should be good.

    Batteries- What do you run?

Im an Interstate dealer, though I use their marine batteries professionally and only the car batteries personally, Ive had good luck with them. They offer a marine AGM, but do not know what they may offer in a automotive AGM. Brand and type aside, when I put a new battery in my rig this...

    Oil Consumption

Been awhile! In a normal year, I expected to hit my target change mileage mid spring. However, due to covid, I was idle, pardon the pun, until the end of May. Since then, ive been running 7 days a week and hit my change interval the end of Aug, but still too busy to change the oil till now. So...

Bummer! on my 03, all 4 are the same sensor.

    Catalytic Converter...

A quality thread chaser should not remove any material, unless a crest is flattened into the thread root, but will not cut the root deeper or the crest of the down. I would not use a thread cutting die. Anti-seize will actually yield a more accurate torque as it relieves the friction between...

    Catalytic Converter...

I removed the exhaust on mine (300K mls) just last nov. Those nuts didnt budge first go. Soaked my nuts for a few days with PB, then hit with heat as I cranked each one. They all popped loose and threaded right off. I prefer to use a pull bar over impact here. I want to feel whats going on...

    Catalytic Converter...

If you have a post converter o2 efficiency code and no pre-converter o2 codes, odds are, its the converter or the sensor.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Thanks for letting me know im buying a filter endorsed by AOC  In all seriousness, I recall there being info presence or absence of the valve, and I really did not pay attention given the orientation of the 5.3L filter. Teats on a bore IMO.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I do not think the longer filter held more then 1/4 qrt more then the OEM length. But ill take what I can get ;)

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I do not know the difference between the 59 and 61 without looking them up, but the 61 is a longer version of the EOM. The "E" should me anti-drain valve, but in a vertical oriented filter like on the 5.3L, its irrelevant. No oil will ever drain out.

    High mileage Fluid Change?

Did my first oil change bank in Nov and used the factory rec'd 5W-30. Im a dino-oil guy.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I sought out the longer filter when I did the first oil change on mine back in Nov. I used the AC Delco PF61e

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Plugs, wires and thermostat last week, then CoverKings neoprene seat covers on the front seats this weekend. Thermo is likely original. Engine runs closer to normal temp now and seems to warm up faster.

    Spark plugs and wires

"Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but how bad of a job is it to change the plugs? I've held off because of a fear of snapping them off, but it is time that I take care of them (possibly the factory plugs, 145K)." A few tricks make this an easy job: A quality "wobble" sparkplug...

    How to hardwire dash cam

There may be more to that "kit", but connecting to a switched IGN 12V means the camera is only on when ignition switch is on. Maybe the camera is like some GPS, they run on 5V, so you need a resister.

    How to hardwire dash cam

12V in ACC may not be 12V in RUN. Need to confirm your fuse is "hot" when needed. Next, you need to confirm your fuse tap has 12V out on your camera's fuse lead.
