    Roof Top Tent install

I just looked at the side rails on my roof. They appear to be a bit curved, so I don't think the three cross rails would all be level.

I haven't bought a RTT yet so no pictures, but I see what you mean on how it might work. Thanks for the idea!

Interesting idea. I do have a third set of holes, though I don't think the RTT has three sets of mounts so I'm not sure how the weight would get on the third rail.

The rating is linked on the Instruction Sheet on the link I provided. Not sure if we have the same rack (crossbars) or not.

    Roof Top Tent install

Vans are great! We have toyota Sienna we often take camping. But in this case I'm doing more offroading than it can handle, and there are other times when I want to take the Yukon instead of the Sienna.

    Roof Top Tent install

Personally I like the convenience of having a tent/bed ready in under 5 min without having to move a bunch of stuff in and out of the vehicle and taking a half hour or more to set it all up, and not having all that gear flopping around the inside of the vehicle on those rougher roads.

Thanks for the info. That looks like a great rack! Question back to you: Why would a 220lb dynamic load rating not be enough for a 165lb tent?

I'm looking to buy a RTT for my 2017 Yukon Denali. Possibly a https://topoakoverland.com/products/galaxy1-0, which weighs 165 lbs. I'm unclear if my stock racks, (i'm pretty sure they are these...

2017 Air Dam trim or removal?

It may be easy to remove on the Tahoe or other models, and on the Yukon the the tops of most of the screws are not easily accessible. I think that's at least part of why most people are cutting them instead of removing them. I found videos and instructions on removing them on other models...

2017 Air Dam trim or removal?

I think that might be true on the Tahoe or some other models, but on the Yukon it's clips and pinscrews that are not easily accessible from the top.

2017 Air Dam trim or removal?

I answered above as well. I want more clearance for at least basic offroading. The air dam is only about 8 inches off the ground and will even scrape taller curbs and such when parking.

2017 Air Dam trim or removal?

more clearance, in part for off roading. Not looking to do anything too extreme, but that air dam will even scrape taller parking curbs.

2017 Air Dam trim or removal?

I'm seeing references to cutting or trimming the air dams off a 2017 era Yukon Denali (is valence the correct term here? are they interchangeable?), but i'm not finding anything on removing or replacing them. Is there a way to do that relatively easily? From what i've seen, and from what I can...
