We had another meeting with the architect Friday. I feel better about going this route. He had some good suggestions that dont really mess too bad with our wish list. We went over some changes we can make to shrink down the total square footage of the house. I think we will be somewhere between 3500-4000 now. The garage was the sacrificial lamb. Bringing it down to a 2-3 car, 800ish total sqft. But we are leaving room for a detached 2-car down the road as needed.

Once we get the next round of plans back we can tweak as needed before sending off to bid. My goal is to break ground Fall 2027, but that is obviously subject to change. They told us 12-18 months to build. And I am good with that.

We made it back to the NC house today. Watching these damn vultures/buzzards on my cameras was driving me insane. They were everywhere!

So i did some research, someone mentioned a green laser pointer and they think of the green light as a predator.

Hole e sh it. You woulda thought I was spraying rounds with an AK47. I hit that pointer across the treeline and where they were hanging and they took off so damn fast. Like a hundred of them. They flew out to the north. Came back from dinner and did it again. Not a bird in sight.

I haven’t had this much fun in a long time. Hoping they come back tomorrow!

Day 4 of Buzzard Gate. Love zapping these things with the laser pointer. They haven’t come on my property since but i zap them next door to keep them away.

Hung an effigy yesterday. Hard to say if it works. They still aren’t coming nearby but not sure if it’s because we are here.

Wonder if they make some kind of laser that would work on a timer and a rotating assy? Would need to be aimed carefully to avoid air traffic, but you're probably keeping it pretty low, hitting the trees.

I was thinking of those Christmas lawn things that shine green all over the house. And just aim them into the trees.

Be very careful to not violate FAA rules...

200m isn’t high enough to hinder air traffic.

But we are thinking of putting a few of these out but those Christmas ones you put in the lawn. Just ask them up at the trees and wallah. We will see how it works.

As of right now we’ve been good. They haven’t come around since we hung the effigy and ***** them with the laser.
