Cuts off when turning right (Intermittent)

What triggers the roll over protection when the system operates normally?

Thats a great question. I've been to busy wtih work and other things around the property to spend much time on it. that's part of the reason i punted it to my buddy, he needed some extra scratch, and he needed something to do. Everyone wins. From what he had found on it, it's a feature inside the BCM, on the pickup trucks you can actually get the IC to show you your pitch and yaw, but at least on my 15, i can't enable that on the IC. It would be those, but he was saying there is no dedicated sensor for it, and that the issue is inside the BCM. Which a new BCM is only like $250, so really not to bad of a price. I just need to poke my head under the dash and decide if i want to save the $20-40 of having him do it, and let the burb sit in my driveway while we send out the BCM to get cloned, or say eff it, and let it take up space in his driveway while we wait for the BCM to get cloned. but he did say he had a couple more tests to run on it to confirm.

I respectfully disagree on the statement that ROP is solely contained in the BCM. There should be a Sensing and Diagnostic (SDM) module mounted to the floor, under the center console. This module contains internal gyroscopes and sensors that monitors the truck's position, with respect to potential rollover conditions. This module may well have failed on your truck.

I respectfully disagree on the statement that ROP is solely contained in the BCM. There should be a Sensing and Diagnostic (SDM) module mounted to the floor, under the center console. This module contains internal gyroscopes and sensors that monitors the truck's position, with respect to potential rollover conditions. This module may well have failed on your truck.

See, that's why you never pretend to know everything. Because chances are, there is always someone that knows something you don't this is why forums exist. I would imagine cross references live data from that module should be able to show if it's getting things out of whack or not and causing the issue

I would also add that this module is connected to the airbags deployment system, so if you contemplate unbolting/removing it, disconnect the battery's negative cable first, just to be sure.

Do I get a cookie for being the least amount of “wrong” by suggesting the clock spring? I mean the clock spring might have some connection back to the ROP system? Lol

YES YOU DO! However it's an internet tracking cookie so the AI terminators are now coming for you....win some loose some i guess

And the yaw sensor is typically located on the floor under the passenger seat.

Alright, further digging and we believe the issue is actually the ground for the BCM. wire was extremely corroded, seems like a lot of the wires on this rig are very corroded which is odd since it's never been around the ocean per it's carfax.....but that's updated and fixed. hopeully. I'll test drive it for the next couple of days and see what happens

If I'm not mistaken, it's a gforce sensor of some sort?

the ocean is nothing for rust unless you live like virtually on the beach, it's all these states that spray salt on there roads the f-s things up, west coast vehicles never rust, ya you get a TINY bit of surface rust that's normal over the years but that's it and a vehicle here from the 60's is probably not even close to what happens in 5-8 years in the rust belt.
