2002 4.3 vortec.
I went to change the cap,rotor,plugs,and wires for an mis fire on cylinder 3 and general tune up.
When I went to replace my cap and rotor I learned the top of my distributor had rusted out pretty severely. So I ended up replacing everything.

I set #1 cylinder to TDC. Lined my rotor up to the 6 mark on the distributor;
put everything back together and now I’m having a no start issue. I had one back fire. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

If your crank is indicating TDC, then the rotor needs to be on whichever piston is on compression stroke, 1 or 4. Wrong gets backfire every time! My bad, I just realized is was a 6!!!!
