But as for RA goes, I'm not seeing it for $348. There's a reman listed for that price, but the Luk is $442 (and $30 shipping to my zip) All in, with discount applied and sales tax+shipping, my price would have been just under $500. Amazon would have been right around that number too.
Well, not to be combative, but I didn't mistake a reman for a TC0017 and I didn't pull that price out of my nether regions. The price apparently went up from when I typed that and when you looked.

Prices on everything are fluctuating right now and will probably continue that way for some time.

That’s not a bad price.
It is right about what I paid for mine a few months ago. You won’t be disappointed with the luk. I do recommend getting the trans tuned but you don’t have to. The luk worked fine with stock tuning

I am shopping for my L96 6.0 engine swap and I will do torque converter at the same time. (for obvious reasons) After reading this thread and several others here, I'm convinced the Luk is the way to go. Now where to buy?

A google search brings up a number of options, this being the first one:

Is this the same as the TorCon? All the other vendors say the part number is TC0017. I don't see that number on this listing nor do I see "TorCon." Price is quite a bit lower than all other vendors, even Amazon, but I'm not sure it's legit?
Luk TC0017 came yesterday, all is well. I can attest to the PartsGeek option as being legit. It was the cheapest option I found, with shipping it was better than Amazon and RA (even with RA discount).

I am in the process of having a LUK Tc0017 torque converter put into my 2018 GMC Yukon (5.3l engine). Some occasional slippage during a recent road trip and some minor debris in the transmission pan at last maintenance convinced me to make the swap now. I had a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, with the same basic engine and transmission setup. The OEM torque converter simply came apart after about 100,000 miles, with very little towing and mostly city driving. Lots of problems with that torque converter in similar GM configurations. My transmission guy recommended the LUK torque converter after that failure and I was very happy with the results - more positive and responsive shifting. No problems with the swap out and I confidently gave my son that truck to acquire the 2018 GMC Yukon, which I hope to have similar great results.
