Curious to know what people have total mileage wise on their 5th gen Tahoe / Yukon’s? Obviously, there’s lots of talk about the engine issues, lifers…etc.; however statistically that is small (not insignificant though).

2023 Yukon Denali Ult

6.2L (second engine / replaced @ 16,000 miles)

Total miles now 88K

2021 Tahoe HC with the 6.2L. 138,000 miles. I tow approx. 5k miles per year, mainly highway. Knock on wood, only failure I've had was the water pump at roughly 40K miles, which was fixed under warranty. I also had the rear diff groan but that went away once I added the additives with the GM fluid. I've run Amsoil 5W-30 signature series every 15k miles in it since I bought it with 26K miles.

2023 Suburban, 44,000 miles. Absolutely perfect. Normal maintenance is all that has been done to it. Has Suburbans and Yukons since the 90s...this one is the best.

24 Yukon SLT, 5.3L with 35,000 miles. Only thing that needed replacing was the passenger side cv joint early on as it was leaking grease on inside part of rim. Other than that, so far just 5k oil changes.

2022 Yukon XL w/ 3.0. Actually right at 50 months of ownership. Just hit 100K miles today.
Warranty repairs include the coolant control valve (about 75K), the "groaning" rear diff (about 90K), Oil Pan leak and front crankshaft seal (99.6K).

I did have to replace an Onstar module recently, but that has been my only out of pocket repair expense due to mfg defect.

21 Tahoe 40k. Traded in
23 Tahoe 20k traded in
23 Tahoe 20k traded in
25 Tahoe 7k
26 suburban 7k

No real issues with any of them
23’s were traded in because of fear of the 6.2 L issue, not because they had issues.

22 sub 67k miles. High pressure fuel inject replaced by warranty. It was caused by a fail fuel pump 3 months ago and I had to pay by myself

2021 Suburban HC, about to turn 100,000 miles, 99,871. Replaced transmission at 80,000 miles. Passed PICO, so hopefully. I bought it used 2 years ago with 70,000 miles. I have had a Range module for about a year and a half. I installed a large Walker Dynomax muffler 17789, 3" in, out and through. Slightly louder but nice.

Purchased our 2021 Yukon SLT 5.3L in November 2024 with around 62,984 miles on it.

It now has 69,668 miles. So I've only 6,684 miles on it. But the service records were very clean and the truck hasn't had any issues.

First mod I did was the Range RA007 module.

I've replaced all fluids and the battery. I need to do coolant tho here sometime later this year.

Been a good vehicle for us, knock on wood haven not had any major issues. Doesn't burn any oil. I ran the dealer oil for a few months then switched to Amsoil Signature 0W20. I'll be using that for the duration on this vehicle.

Minor issues:
1. When I purchased the vehicle, I noticed the "rear diff groaning" issue, but after draining the diff fluid and installing some better LSD additives, it has bee quiet.
2. The driver seat lumbar does not work. Not sure what's going on with it, I've replaced the switch still nothing. Need to dig into it later.
3. Several of the headliner clips come loose around the pano-sunroof. Common issue, there was an updated clip released to provide better retention. I ordered them and have them on hand, just need to find time to drop the headliner to replace the clips.
4. About 1 week after purchasing, the battery died. It was the original battery. Threw a bunch of crazy lights on the dash. Replaced it and everything went back to normal, been fine every since.

2021 Yukon Denali 6.2 39000
No mechanical issues with the drive train.
New Michelin tires at 26340. Factory tires wore terribly. Followed scheduled oil change and tire rotations. Brake fluid exchange at 36158. Engine air filter and cabin air filter changed per schedule. This truck behaves well!

I concluded this makes sense! I figured we'll do every 5k at the dealer to get the tire rotation as well and to document, but that I'd DIY one in-between at 2500 (it's so easy). When ours reaches 7,500, I'll do the 4th oil change (first was DIY at 9xx), and at 10k the dealer the 5th....I'm going to see if our dealer who charges $95 (it's not bad compared to near my house $140), will match a competitor coupon at $79.95 (I actually don't trust dealers who have a price $60 less than the other dealer next door, could be they don't do the work)
