I just picked up a 2026 RST and going to drop it Monday for ceramic coat and PPF. I don’t want to go crazy because the costs add up quick.

Right now I told them I want the front bumper, mirror caps, door cups, and rear bumper covered in XPEL PPF and the whole car coated with 4yr ceramic. Also tinting the windows with ceramic tint.

I’m debating if I should have gotten the hood as well? Do you guys get lots of rock chips on the hood???? I figure it’s so high off the ground it doesn’t get hit much??

I have a hellcat challenger and I filmed the whole hood becuase it’s low. The Tahoe I think I can skip, just asking.

Bought new '25 Z71 11/14/24, wrapped the roof as shown, then frt. windows tinted & told tint installer I'd return for PPF leading edge of hood but didn't.

Just rolled over 13,5K miles, 400 mile trip on IH once a month but VERY little rock/gravel etc. damage so @ this point for my usage it was a good choice.

Im guessing the front bumper has 90% of the chips that exist? Did you get any on the hood? Thanks man.

Ended up with the front bumper, they also did the black large horizontal bar on the grill. Mirror caps, rear bumper, and door cups.

I am bringing it back soon for them to redo a small portion of the grill that had an uneven edge. I told them to also do the headlights while it’s there.
They also did ceramic on all painted surfaces, wheel faces, glass.

No one else has film?!

Still interested in what others have done. Anyone do full body? That was overkill for me I thought for the price.

Are there any other areas I should film when it goes back?

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with doing the front 8-12” of the hood and the front corner section of the front fenders that lineup with it.

I would also consider doing the lower side doors between the front and rear wheel wells; Pretty much from the rocker panels up 6-10”. Protects from road debris that can get kicked up from the tires and just personally I’m not a fan of mud flaps. Consider this even more if you’re planning on running a wider more aggressive wheel/tire combo.

Thanks. I’ll consider the lower rockers but I hate seeing any edges on the film. Being low though it may not be noticeable. I did the rear bumper so it stops the rock chips from the rear wheels. I have running boards so I am hoping they help prevent chips from the front wheels kicking up stuff.

I am really against doing just the front edge of the hood because I’ve seen many cars that had the film removed and the paint is faded in the hood but still bright under the film. The detail shop had an older Ferrari in there that had a partial film on the hood for 10+ years and the hood was 2 different shades of yellow; they polished the best they could but they couldn’t correct it. Needs a repaint.

Personally I do full hood after seeing a friend’s Tahoe with a faded line from partial film—not worth the risk. Rockers and behind rear wheels are smart adds too. Just make sure your https://ppf-wrap.com/ wrap edges cleanly so you don’t get that visible line later.

For front of my hood I used the GM composite piece. It is perfect exact fit for contour of the hood and comes with 2 way tape for application. This is 2 years old and no issues and easy to clean.
They come in this dark tint or chrome.
