Hey guys, I recently replaced my warn rear air shocks with new AC Delco ones from GMPartsGiant.com. I do not drive the Yukon as much but today when I took it out, I noticed the rear end was super soft and bouncy like it would feel if your shocks were shot. Even with the original shocks, it did not bounce like it is now. The new shocks have about 3,000mls on them so still pretty new. The air compressor is working and the shocks are holding pressure. When I disconnected the airhose on the driverside, a bunch of oily residue came out. The passenger side just released air pressure and that was it. My guess is thats not normal. could both "new" shock be bad? 2019 Yukon XL SLT 79,xxxmls. thanks!

I've never had an oily residue come out of my air shocks, and as such, I believe that you may have a defective shock.

I wonder if you're compressor is failing and it is spitting oil through the system

Hey guys so I removed my shocks last week, flipped them over and compressed them and oil spewed out. I have a video but took a screenshot of it coming out the air inlet of the shocks. AC Delco OEM replacements and they failed with less than 3k mls on them. Both failed in the same way. Yes they were covered under warranty but man does GMPartsGiant make it such a pain to get them replaced under warranty. I had to send them a letter from a mechanic saying that they have failed. Then they would not send me the part until I sent back the failed shocks. So my Yukon XL has been sitting in the garage with no rear shocks for a week now. I guess that what I get for buying quality AC Delco parts…. Insert obligatory line “they don’t make em like the use to”.

I take it they did not offer the option for advance replacement? even if they did it probably would have been a nightmare getting credited back for it.
that company has a very long bad history, do not recommend........
good luck with replacement if it happens, I would not be surprised if they shoot back with out of stock or back ordered.

yeah I wish I would have done my research on them ‍♂️. live and learn. fortunately they approved my return and the replacement ones are set to arrive today or tomorrow. I called them and shared my frustrations in a very respectful way but the lady could care less. pretty crappy but now I know not to order from them again. I just hope I dont have the same problem with the replacement ones.....

well that's good, I considered ordering from them once and this was even a decade ago but I always do my due diligence and started looking at there reviews and changed my mind, might not be a deal breaker for non-critical parts but when it shows in stock and you can have it in 2-days and then you order and then it gets suddenly backordered and they have your money already it's f-no not happening. And ya that can happen anywhere but when they have miles of bad reviews, no thanks i'll take my chances somewhere else.
all they are is a middleman drop shipper, when you place a order it comes from anywhere that might have it in stock
same company runs xxxxpartsgiant.com toyota, ford, nissan, etc
