Hey, what's up guys? I am new here, obviously. How are you all doing? I just recently bought my first GM and also first SUV, which brings me here. You are my people now. I just picked up a 99/00 Yukon Denali, the last owner blew a head gasket like 4 times and kept pouring junk in the radiator to fix it so I have a fresh L31 going in, it's a 150k from a junk yard, just tore down/rebuilt and getting the final touches put on, should be in soon. I'm not sure what the "Denali" package included, but it's 4x4 and has an aftermarket hitch already (which I have heard was a weak point from factory, don't quote me). It's all stock with the exception of the headers going in with this motor. It still sits on stock wheels, which I do not like. Ideally I would like it to be on 285/70/17s instead of 265/70/16s (not sure if that will work with stock ride height or not yet). Also want to give it a small lift. And exhaust at least...

Well yeah, that's my thoughts for the truck all in one post. Don't feel compelled to answer any if my unknowns if you don't want to. I'll be going through our forums soon, and maybe making more threads.

What do you guys all drive, and how's your set ups?

Also here are a couple pictures I have. What do you guys think?

Welcome. I really like that style. Have any interior shots? Interior good shape? Just curious--why'd you go with a stock rebuild? Always could use a lil' extra under the hood ;). Lots of guys here have interesting build threads. Should check out a few, maybe to get a few ideas. Maybe a nice LS swap lol--just sayin. Post up a few more pics when you get a chance.

Nah, no interior shoots. I don't know what I was thinking lol. But yeah, interior is good except for a typical driver's seat tear/wear. I actually really hate the front end on these Yukons, but I was in the market for a "truck" or more so just something V8 and 4wd, and I got offered up this. Decent price in the end too. As far as why the stock rebuild? Mostly just for reliability and cheap factor. Junkyard motor probably would have ran fine as is, but since it's out why not give a rebuild? But later on I'll be throwing some money again. I probably could have cammed it now,but a crate motor sounds better later. After it runs. When it runs I can pay 3k for a crate with 400tq. Until then it's on to making everything else up to par, like bigger wheels/tires, intake, exhaust, and anything else I find that needs work. Does LS drop in without many mods? Also I'm in California so it's gotta be the same year or newer.
