Front seat belt latch replacement 1992 Suburban

Managed to disassemble the latch without breaking any parts. LOL this latch is a puzzle. Anyone got a link to a drawing showing how the parts go together? Or... like the genius my dog thinks I am I will pull the passenger side latch and see if that shows me how the parts go together. ETA...

Front seat belt latch replacement 1992 Suburban

Doubeleive, yes tried aerosol Royal Purple lubricant and did not fix the problem. Disassembling the latch mechanism, a spring and white molded plastic part seem to be broken/separated. I cannot determine how those parts are supposed to fit back together and they are enclosed in a metal frame so...

Front seat belt latch replacement 1992 Suburban

Front seat driver's side seat belt latch quit working this morning. Will not retain the metal tongue. Bucket seats/console. Pulled the seat belt with latch and 2-wire harness (console too just to make room to work). Chevrolet dealer near me says GM obsoleted the part (lol yeah). Have not...

    Engine died while running x3

Thank you Doubleieve. That's first thing tomorrow's list. QuestionL If the entire distributor needs to be replaced, what is a good brand to look for? Reman is OK.

    Engine died while running x3

Garage today says they have ruled out fuel supply issues and believe the intermittent problem is ignition related. Hope to know more tomorrow. If the distributor has developed enough "play" that the timing sensor is not reliable, does anyone know of a good reman distributor? I understand Delco...

    Engine died while running x3

Thank you for your response Thauber. Yes a throttle body injection system. Truck ran fine on its way to local garage. They will run tests on it tomorrow and I will be there. Gonna start simple. IIRC its an OBD I system so we will check that. Two strange things happened to it (all three...

    Engine died while running x3

Hello all. I'm a forum lurker whose DD is a 1992 Chevy Suburban and it yesterday developed a problem. Truck is a K1500 5.7L L05 non-Vortec gas engine, 4L60 auto trans and a bunch of standard options. Bought it new and it has 403,000 miles on the odometer. Truck has been almost absolutely...

Guys that do maintenance know to use GM fluids in trans and differentials. Rear differential is PosiTrac and they know about additive.

HiHo, LOL Oh yeah the fluids have been changed! Met Miami-Dade on the big oil forum and that's how I got here. Fluids are paid attention. Engine oil gets changed every 3K miles. 5.7L L05 gasoline engine gets Mobil 1 10W-30 oil and Mobil 1 M1-201 filter every time. 4L60 transmission gets new...

    Another gearhead from Texas

I don't remember all the individual details but it's things like armored gas tank, skid plates, high-ride 1/2-ton suspension, narrow door panels, heavy-duty electrical system, big radiator, oil coolers on engine and transmission and things like that. I really never modified the vehicle except...

    Another gearhead from Texas

Tony, the Suburban has been remarkably trouble-free. Engine has never been opened, nor have transmission, transfer case or differentials. As you would expect, interior shows wear on driver's seat and paint has finally started to show signs of age. Everything else is in good shape. This...

Miami-Dade, the most memorable thing about the Suburban is both my daughters asked to be driven to their weddings in Big Red.
