    PPV front shocks seized up?

With the 3.08 gears it always feels a little slow getting all of that weight to take off even with the deep 1st gear in the 6 speed. Seems like I would be able to tow a little more to when needed one and a while. Probably not worth a $1000 to have it changed though. Don't really want to do any...

    PPV front shocks seized up?

I did not verify the part number, but did buy from a local AC delco parts store, and had to special order what it called for. I could go dig the old ones out of the dumpster to check myself, but it's too cold here to bother, and I want feel like keeping my truck now. Sure seems tempting to...

    PPV front shocks seized up?

I've had my 13 PPV for 2 1/2 years now, and have always heard how stiff the suspension was so I just dealt with it. Truck has 80 kmi and looks like it was rode hard with some of the bent shields etc. underneath, and driving it was painful on most roads. The truck would kind of shudder and jumpy...

    I Autocrossed my PPV!

Before I went, I did spend about 5 minutes pulling the heavy aux battery off the left front, and tying a leather glove around the live positive cable. I did notice, with only one battery the starter turned much slower.

    I Autocrossed my PPV!

Normally when I autocross I like to run the spec pressure that I normally drive with which in this case was 37 psi cold. I added 5 more to the front after a couple runs, but it didn't really help. Needs much more camber, but I wouldn't want to drive it everyday like that.

    I Autocrossed my PPV!

I was the largest vehicle by far, other than a Chrysler 300 which as it turns out was the only thing I beat after seeing the final results. I was 8 seconds behind the fastest open wheel car which was probably 1/4 of my curb weight.

    I Autocrossed my PPV!

I finally got a chance to autocross my 13 PPV yesterday. I've autocrossed many different vehicles, but not a truck. I wasn't even sure if they would let me compete with it, but I convinced tech it would be fine, and I promised not to roll it. I've been wanting to see what this thing could do...

    Black Lug Nuts for Steelies

You should be able to find OE lug nuts that are threaded on the outside of the nut, that accept the screw-on OE black plastic caps.

Got new Goodyear cop tires and new wheels!

Although it might not be everyone's preference, I love the old school hot rod look of these wheels and tires on any full-sized Chevrolet of any year. The quality of these $148 each "Vision" wheels is impressive. I measured the radial, and lateral run-out of all 4 wheels on my Hunter Road Force...

Got new Goodyear cop tires and new wheels!

After looking at all of the other size options that were going to be expensive too, I decided to use the 265/60-17 Goodyear tires that are designed specific for the Tahoe PPV. $1250 for 4 tires is outrageous though, and figured might as well spend another $600 for new wheels too. Then I can...

PPV 17" wheel center cap bolt size

I used the stainless bolts too on mine along with stainless washers. There are suppose to be some small aluminum spacers between the cap and wheel too. I was missing a few and found a 3/8 inch nut slips over the bolt threads to use as a spacer. The cap is not clamped to the wheel around the...

    Sway Bars

Why not the PPV bars? They are really stiff, and work great. They would be cheap from the bone yard.

    LanceD's PPV Thread

I thought the black trim looked pretty cool. My steering wheel looked a lot like yours, but when bored, just keep scraping it off with your fingernail, and pretty soon it will have a nice black glossy look to it. And, just add a cover to the wheel, which helps a lot with grip, and comfort. As...

Daytime Running Light changed at the dealer for $50

Well it's just plain a stupid, stupid, stupid design not being able to easily change any bulb, anytime, any where! On my 02 Silverado, all you had to do was to pull 2 pins, and the whole light assembly was out in 5 seconds. A lot of GM and other cars you have to pull the whole front bumper...
