Oil filter seized, destroyed
Had similar thing happen with a '77 Monte Carlo my dad purchased new in December of '76. Went to change the oil & filter after the first 500 miles and the factory AC oil filter wouldn't budge! Spit a plug, What to do?
J - Plugs were probably over-torqued, or the threads seized to the aluminum threads in the head, shearing them off when taken out. Did you use a dab of anti-seize on the plug threads before installing? I always do and have never had stripped threads, nor had any plugs come loose. If you've...- KC 2013 Tahoe

Replaced Infotainment Screen and problem is worse
My money would be on the e-Bay replacement being bad. If it's china-made, not likely the replacement will be much better. Seeing as it works for awhile, your work is probably fine. Best option is new GM, but I'm rather certain they're BIG bucks. A good alternate would be to pull a used OEM...- KC 2013 Tahoe

There are just some days I wish I didn't turn wrenches
At 67 I have the same problem with my arms getting scraped up much easier then when my skin was newer. Being on blood thinners makes it worse, as the small blood vessels bleed much more easily even from minor scrapes/abrasions. AFM/DOD Good News
FWIW - Changed the valve cover gaskets this past weekend. Driver's side was starting to leak at the rear of the head. Unbelievable how clean the underside of the valve covers and the exposed valvetrain were for 146K miles. Regular Mobil-1 oil changes certainly do prevent sludge or gum buildup...- KC 2013 Tahoe

AFM/DOD Good News
2013 Tahoe 5.3, added a Range disabler around 70K, 146K on the clock now. Change the oil/filter every 4K miles with Mobil-1, 5W-30 and a fresh Wix filter. Have always done my own oil changes, good opportunity to spot leaks/drips. She still runs great!- KC 2013 Tahoe

Broke both fuse panel remove/install levers... don't repeat my mistake (COMPLETE/Done!)
Replacing the three primary positive battery cables w/new GM parts... should be pretty easy, right?! The cable that runs from the positive battery terminal to the underhood fuse panel requires the fuse panel be extracted as it connects to a conductive "finger" on the underside of the fuse...- KC 2013 Tahoe

Non functioning parking brake SOLVED.
I didn't need to pull the axles either... just kind of twisted old shoe assembly over axle to remove. Easily slid the new parking brake shoe ass'y back over each axle to install. Anti seize on spark plugs?
I've always used the grey Permatex anti-seize from a tube on my motorcycles and on our '13 Tahoe 5.3 (all w/Aluminum heads). 45K Service - this seems excessive
