    For fun... How many miles on your Yukon

    I hadn't thought about rebuilding the heads but now... hmmmm. I'm not sure how to do it but I'm sure I can figure it out. I've done the fuel pump twice, 1st time was a huge pain in the ass because it went out in the middle of the winter with nearly a full tank. 2nd time was much easier.

    I have a 2000 Yukon SLT with 295,000 miles on it. I've rebuilt the transmission once around 180k. So far that is the most expensive single thing I've done. I'm battling the freakin ABS/Brake light issue and just as an annoyance the washer fluid level comes on all the time when its full. I'll fix...

    So far it was a loose connection to the battery from the neg terminal. It was tightened up and has been working great. There was obviously more play in that connection than I thought. I get nervous on what can go bad with 295k on the thing.

    I had my wife stop by Advance Auto, they tightened up the connections and she said it started right away, like nothing was/is wrong. The attendant said to watch the connection and we may have to replace the battery because the connection is worn a bit from it being lose. He didn't say anything...

    I'll get it checked, it's actually the bolt that screws into the battery terminal, since it's led and won't grip very well that seems to be the problem, although I have it tight enough to stay on but maybe once and a while it wiggles and doesn't create a good connection.. just a theory.

    I have a 2000 Yukon, 295,000 miles on it. Lately I've had a problem and I'm not sure what it is. I'll turn the key to start it and I get nothing, not a click not anything. I can wait about 5 min or so try again and it starts right up. I've also had a couple times when it will not do anything...

    ABS light

    I'm running into a brick wall - the ABS and Brake light are on and it's driving me crazy. I've checked the ground to the frame, I've replaced the ABS Module, I've replaced the sensors at the wheel. When I search there isn't much out there other than what I just stated. So, maybe I'll jack it up...

    Interesting, if the sensor is okay but the hub is bad it’ll register the light on the dash?

    You are correct, sorry I forgot to include all that information. 2000 GMC Yukon SLT 5.3L with 275k on the ticker. The harmonic balancer, any reason to replace that while I'm removing it?

    I think the front crankshaft seal is leaking oil. To replace this do I need to remove the radiator and the fan or can I get to it w/o removing all that?

    Took it into Midas for a diagnostics test and it came back to be the MAF sensor wasn't working properly and the intake manifold gasket was leaking. Quote to repair, 650.00. Went to auto parts store, spent 100.00 and did it myself. SES light is off and she is running like a champ. Glad I didn't...

    Its been a while since I pulled the codes, I could be incorrect on the exact numbers but it's plausible that the cat is clogged up. I saw it since we moved, we moved from NC to Colorado - not sure if the altitude change did anything to the truck or not. My current thought is replace the cats...
