Ha ha guys, yeah it's just good to know what you have. I am sure it will be fine towing my 8,000 pound Toy Hauler. Got a trip planned for end of May.

Ugghhhhh. Exhausted. Installed a Leveling Kit for my Yukon. Raised the front about 1-1/2" so my new tires stop rubbing. Fixed the stereo and actually has all the buttons and knobs now. Fixed the rear stereo controller so my son can now use his headphones and control what he wants to listen to. Touched up the dash where paint has been worn off. Fixed the rear seat panel and installed a new driver seat arm rest. Installed the Prodigy Brake Controller. Whewwwwww, I'm beat. Time to get in the Jacuzzi Tub for a few hours.

It's fun isn't it?

There's nothing like getting a bargain vehicle and investing some sweat equity into it to make it a good riding/driving vehicle.

I only buy older used vehicles cheap and then fix them up. I just picked up a high mile, excellent running 03 EXT two weeks ago. Spent the first weekend laying under her, rebuilding the air ride compressor and changing the shocks. Last weekend was all the drivetrain fluids and rear suspension, next weekend will be a complete front suspension and steering rebuild with a front leveling kit.

After that a new driver's seat cushion and I should be good to go for a few years provided the 180K mile drivetrain holds up. It starts easy, idles perfectly smooth, and shifts great so I expect a long life out of this weekend Home Depot, Dump, and around town errand running truck!

Funny you mention the drivers seat cover. Replaced mine after work yesterday. Youtube videos are awesome in showing the process.

Yup, that's about how mine looks. Both driver and passenger side are shot. The seat backs are okay and the back is pretty pristine along with the carpet.

I'm struggling with buying new covers or keeping an eye on ebay to find a used one that will match the slight wear on the seat backs. The seat backs are the expensive ones to replace. IIRC, it was about $300 per side for the backs.

I also have the rubber coating peeling from the center console. It'll take some scrubbing but the rubber isn't too hard to rub off and go for the plain look.

The seller of my seat bottom quoted me $225 shipped for the back. Reasonable considering all the material.

I think I'm just going to keep an eye on ebay and in the meantime use an iron-on patch on the bottom-side and stitch the rip together from the top. My truck will probably only see 2000 miles a year or less so I'm not too concerned about making it pristine.

Not really sure. But the Desert trip was cut short as my radiator plastic side tank cracked on our way. Good thing for insurance and they covered both trailer and suv to tow back to my house. Got the radiator ordered as none local. At least it happened within 15 miles of my house. Never overheated.

Go to GM website and you can get a build sheet with your VIN..

Mine was a 3.73, but you could order them with a 4.10:1 which folks pulling campers did freqently.. I never had a problem with mine pulling up to 10,000 lbs with the 3.73's.

Good to know. I thought it would do better on a pretty steep grade as it was topping out at 45 mph, but in comparison to my 4.6 Expedition which only did 20 mph up it. I had it in Tow mode and surprised towards the top it kicked down.

Installed a brand new radiator. Put a lower temp thermostat (180) and new belts. Not a leak in sight. Temps on tranny and coolant are nice now. Flushed and filled with Dex-Cool as the PO had the green stuff in it.

...also, cleaned off the K&N Filter, waiting for it to dry so I can oil it up, then install.
