To start things of this is gonna be a bit of a slow build as i haven't had the truck for too long, but I needed to take care of some things before all the mods start.

When i got the truck it had 22's that i had to take off got myself some 17's off a 2011 silverado and plasti dipped them.i noticed with them side by side there wasn't much difference in their height.

Now to more important things the dreaded rusting brake lines -_- I used acdelco pre bent kit. They were not too bad but it was just such a pain to get them in.best advise for this kit,
label your new lines, remove the driver side front and rear wheel splash guard gives you so much more room, dran your brake fluid before you start undoing lines

Speed bleeder and pressure bleeding are your friend!
FYI the front and rear bleeder screw are not the same despite what amazon says or at least for my truck they are different

Yea had to be done. Feels good knowing you got fresh ones under there.
But i think that's the worst I've ever seen on any vehicle. Mine aren't even that bad and mine has spent its whole like in Alaska

yeah it does feel alot better knowing i don't have to worry about them now. also your lucky yours are still in good condition.
I'm kind of playing catch up on neglected maintenance.

about an inch of water in there

also found that the gasket behind the water pump had failed should have been an easy job just to swap them out but no -_- i broke the t-stat housing bolt off while tightening it up. so looks like a good time to just buy a new one...i was to lazy to try and drill it out and at 112,000 miles mind as well

its been awhile form the last time i updated but here's some more progress.

this tuck had the load leveling shocks non airbag ones and they were long overdue for a change as well pass side was shot
replaced they with delco heavy duty hrydo shocks on the right.
i know people say change the springs or you lose around a inch of rear ride height so far i like the look gives it a move level look also i have not noticed any change in how the springs act they still handle weight just fine.

20160516_115016.jpg

after that was time for the brake front was a problem but the rear rotors would not come off even after using a rubber hammer nothing so i had to get creative >:)

I thought the stock airride springs would be fine too. Hated them after a few months of deleting airride. Trimmed dead coils off of z71 springs and run those now. Big improvement for me btw.

Looks like its coming along nicely.

Man, rust is brutal.

That's good to see they sit well i might try going with z71 springs and see how they are. also did they bring your rear ride height up?

yeah rust is a pain, but as i have been replacing things i have been sanding and re painting other parts as well with the rust reformer paint. soon i will do the whole under body.

z71's normally bring up the ride height... especially on an airride equipped vehicle with blown bags.

I trimmed two coils off of mine. Its actually slightly lower now. Need to do the free travel mod next. Rear is more planted and a bit stiffer certainly than before.

part 2
led fogs

i didnt have to make any custom mount just reuse the factory mount after removing the original fog light base and all worked just right.
i added in male connectors to make everything plug and play. the 7 inch bars fit in just right with some room to spare.

That's exactly how I mounted mine. I've got a set of single row lights in there now... But thinking about swapping them out for a dual row like yours to fill out the hole better.

nice i was thinking at first to do 2 single rows on each side 1 spot and 1 flood but i just ended up going with the double rows.
