So Crutchfield's site states that the 5600 will not fit in the NNBS Tahoes. This is why:

3/27/2014 5:46:18 p.m. Jenny The 5600 is a bit too deep.
3/27/2014 5:46:25 p.m. Jenny It is 6.885" deep.
3/27/2014 5:46:31 p.m. Alex what is the 8500?
3/27/2014 5:46:40 p.m. Jenny The vehicle offers 6.663".
3/27/2014 5:47:33 p.m. Jenny 6.56"

My thoughts here are that it doesn't matter b/c I can cut out behind it and make room. Am I correct? I was looking at the 8500, but the 5600 is $140 cheaper on Amazon for essentially the same thing.

It'll fit. I cut the same part out as above and works fine, no issues

Excellent, that's what I figured. Can anyone tell me the difference in the 5600bhs and the 8500bhs?

More control over your iPhone if you have an iphone and want to plug it in EVERY time you get in your vehicle. 2nd USB port so you can have your phone plugged in plus 1 other USB.

IMO, I would get the 5600

I have Android and will mostly use bluetooth. I'm not sure why it's $140 cheaper, but I'll take it :)

85 has a detachable face while the 56 does not
85 has HDMI input while the 56 does not
85 has dual zone for audio/video
85 has a SD card slot
85 has 2USB vs 1
85 has the "advanced display resolution" whatever that is...

Hmmmm. I also have android but want to install headrest speakers (2 now and possibly two more later). If I want music up front and video playing in the rear (with headphones) 56 or 85? Not sure what I would need the SD card slot for. Also could I use the navigation on my phone but mirror to the head unit?

Thanks

The 5600 will fit with the trimming mentioned, I have it installed in my Yukon.

I was wondering what the catch with that head unit was because I've been seeing them for $340 in Houston. So is it a nice unit? I'll be streaming blue tooth as well

Its a decent unit for the price, I think I paid a bit under $340, Houston also. Bluetooth streaming works great for my needs, Pandora is controlled through the display once paired. Also controls google music, fwd, back, pause, but no search. Havent really messed with much else....

Does anyone have a picture with the center console removed? I plan modifying the center console for a motorized Ipad install and a double din behind it.
