LED tails look great. I love mine. Hey I have never had cruise control issues have you?

To be honest, I've never engaged the cruise control but I'll check it out. If it doesn't work, it wouldn't be a huge issue for me. The only issue is I now have the ATS and BRAKE lights on the dash dinging at me when I start the truck...

Had the seats removed, deep steam cleaned the carpet (last owner trashed it). Had the front seat head rests repaired with new vinyl after ridding myself of the ghetto monitors that didn't work. Had the moonroof sliding panel headliner replaced - falling down in typical crap GM quality fashion (owned half-dozen GM vehicles and all the headliners drooped and fell). Installed Alpine overhead DVD 10.2" screen for the kiddos. Threw in a new set of factory floor mats off Ebay.

2004 Yukon Denali, fully loaded white on grey leather, 33k original miles. Hard to believe how badly the previous owner filthed this thing up. Almost there.

33k..wow!
That is what I thought when I refreshed Auto-Trader and it magically appeared. The dealer had just listed it, and we rushed over to see it. Honestly, I rushed faster than is my want to buy this truck because it looked really nice on my first inspection, and they had people waiting with deposits after us and I didn't want to lose the deal (we were first). Now that I've had a week to really spend some time with it, I am not all that impressed.

The engine, under carriage, and all mechanical systems are amazingly clean like you would expect of a 33k mile truck. Other things - not so much. It looked like it had been left outside for some time, so I replaced the clouded tail lamps and am going to try and clean up the headlamps with a Mother's kit this weekend. The paint has more scratches and dings than I originally saw, but white hides them pretty good. Some really bad body work on the driver side rear bumper (terrible bondo job) really pissed me off, cannot believe I missed it. Someone backed into something and had some back alley shady body shop repair it - nothing appears on the Carfax so it was never reported.

The real issues with this truck appear to be with the interior. The BOSE stereo is a complete POS, and the head unit CD player refuses to accept discs. The console mounted factory 6 disc changer clicks for several minutes each time you start the truck, but it will accept discs and it plays. The issues with the leather and the headliner I already mentioned. The carpet is steamed but still shows permanent stains. I am hoping that mechanically, this truck is sound. I am taking it to the shop this next week to have a thorough check up to see what needs servicing. Crossing fingers.

It looks good in the pictures and your center console doesnt looked too chipped up. Hopefully it's mechanically sound. I cant imagine too much damage done in 33k miles since 2004, but you never know.
BTW, the BOSE is crap when it is working

It definitely looks good from the pictures but I am sure you can see a lot of the little things when you look closer. Hopefully the mechanically everything checks out and you have a good base to start from.

Thanks guys, I hope you both are right and that the only problems are aesthetic.

I'm guessing the chipped console is referring to the silver colored section? I have seen some really badly chipped ones to - any preventive maintenance to help prevent the wear? It looks like it is just some type of silver paint, wondering if a good wax will work.

Just got done replacing the in cabin air filters. 15 minute job took 45 due to being side-tracked by the Avon delivery driver.

I dont know of anything that prevents it. Some peope repaint it. There's also a full woodgrain kit that covers those pieces in the center.

Never thought about the wax :hmmm2:

Replaced the canister solenoid and just now my "service ride control" message came up... Anyone know what is there to service?

Take a pic with one on the drivers side and the other on the passenger side and let us decide.

It's raining and my truck is filthy, so I can't get a good comparison pic to the first pic I'm posting, but here goes.....
