Today I got in wife's Yukon and it was dead. Charged battery and started it up but it idled at about 500 rpm's. Then died when I turned on ac.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Still won't idle

I'd start by having the battery tested.

I replaced the bad Wally world battery with one from the local parts house. Still when I start the Yukon up it idles fine at first and then idles down to about 3oo then just dies. It starts right back up but sure is frustrating me.....

Any help you guys could provide would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Darrell

Could either be a dirty throttle body or a dying fuel pump or something else!

The fuel pump was replaced 30k miles ago. Sure hope that ain't it. Odd that it runs fine above 700 rpms. Just isles down too far and dies.

Then I'd give the throttle body a good cleaning and see if that helps, it's a cheap fix if it helps!

Took throttle body and air meter out and they were both clean. Put it back together and still won't idle.

Yukon ran fine till battery went dead and after charging it it won't idle. I have added new battery, checked throttle bodyand air meter, fuel pump was replaced short time ago. Runs normal but isles itself down so far it dies.

Stumped.......

There is a relearn for the idle but I always forget how to do it! One thing you could do is leave your battery cables disconnected for a few hours and then reconnect and start the truck. I think I had to do that once since I owned my truck and it helped!

This^^^

When you lost battery power, you lost the learned idle speed. It will eventually learn itself again.

I too think there is a way to do it without a scan tool but can't remember.

Thanks guys. I drove it to work two days and all is better. Today it idles at about 700 which is normal.

Thanks again.
