First off please don't bash me, I searched the site first to answer my question.

I'm going to have to tow my daughter car (Honda Civic) up the east coast. I'm stock on my 01 Hoe, what will I need to upgrade to safely pull that weight?

You'll be fine stock. Ive towed my buddies 04 mustang in a 20' tandem axle enclosed with no problems, and all I have is a vette servo and the factory GM tow package.

Thanks for the information! I was bit nervous with just stock tow packages and transmission.

If you use an open trailer there will be less drag and better MPG

I've pulled a 1986 C-10 1/2 ton truck with a car hauler that weight alone 3.5k with from Mississippi to Dallas with no problem. I'm sure you will be fine with a small civic. Im in an 03 Stock Yukon XL at the time. Factory tow package.

Say, how much would that run me?

Cooler depends on size and brand. I bought one for my SS. It ran me $60. Servo I would say about $60 plus installation. Shop around. I went to Orileys for the cooler. But having the towing package, it should have one already. Not 100% on that.

I have the trucool 40k but you wont need that. They have smaller versions like the 25k. But if yours has the tow package you already have one. I had the stock one but upgraded to the 40k. The 40K is huge! But i drive mine like I stole it and go race it almost every weekend.

The servo I got for around $20 and put it in myself. The most special tool you'll need is a c clamp.

Mostly stock '02, pulled an open car haluer for 4 hours on "tow mode" with a '67 nova on open highway. No problems other than gas mileage.
