Does this void warrenty

Should not void any warranties. The kit comes with instructions that are very easy to follow. Just cut the resonator off where they tell you to and the SLP kit slides on and uses the existing exhaust hanger. :waytogo:

My truck has been to the dealer for a lot of things, heck my service writer even said it looks nice.

I "tucked" mine as close as I could, it sit FLUSH with the lower edge of the bumper cover.

Ohh, Not sure why one of my friends said anything to do with the exhaust will void warranty immeadiately.

Been wanting to make it growl a bit.

Mine is tucked the same way. As for installation...it is SIMPLE.

Get a Magnaflow muffler #12589 depending on how aggressive you're wanting your "growl" the 12589 is pretty conservative but sounds great and there's no drone in the vehicle.

Would it be possible to just buy the muffler but keep stock tip? How would that go?

Reading up on the Airaid makes me a bit thirsty too. This forum makes me want so many things!

Sorry new to this forum, will post pics when I get a chance. :p

Would the Magnaflow #12589 have to be welded on? And if so, would it be recommended to also weld the SLP tip?

Sorry for the hi-jack OP...just recieved mine and wanting to find out what's the best way to install it.

Yes you would weld the muffler on. The tips come with clamps - but I had mine welded because the clamp came loose.

The kit doesn't change the sound at all. What does change the sound a little bit is the removal of the stock resonator but honestly it's not that big of a difference. I was worried about the same thing with our burb since it's the family vehicle and we've been good without the resonator for a couple years now. :waytogo:

Others say it doesn't change the sound on the highway or drone but all I can tell you is it made my 2011 Tahoe drone (resonate) at highway RPM's. It wasn't real loud and no one else complained about it but it did bug me. I guess GM went to the expense of putting resonators on these vehicles for a reason.

I took it off and put on a Corsa Touring catback and I'm much happier.
