got the expedition console in, best mod ever!

bought an expedition console yesterday at the u pull and pay, got it installed today and my God what a difference! I dont have to slump over to lean now and theres just more room! easy enough to do also! I recommend this for anyone not wanting to drop a ton of money on an escalade console this thing cost me 12 bucks at the u pull place! also installed the dual battery tray and battery today now the gauge sits at 14 with stereo blasting and a/c on high!

Do you have to modify holes to mount, etc?

Yes it came out of a 99 expedition, all the guts fan blower for a/c and all I even cut the harness plug from truck to console just in case I can figure out a way to wire the fan blower and cig lighter to work. I had to drill new holes but didnt go crazy, just used some self tappers through the carpet and stuff, I did have to trim the front a little to make it fit in there better and it covers the power port on my truck but I am gonna transfer that over to the console here in the next day or two. overall I love it!

maybe I sit too high in the seat? or ur lower in the seat no offense but when sitting in the seat me arm rest is in the right position but the top of the stock console was lower than that and if I wanted to lean over (maybe im just lazy) farther I had to slump to the right to do so, with the expedition console it is just the right height!

I understand what your talking about, I always hated that. I miss my 1999 Denali for that reason, plus the cup holders in the console was nice too. It probably is a tall thing i'm 6'3 lol

ok. thought you were justifying an "OG sit and lean to the center with one hand on the wheel and the other who knows where" sitting position. just looks stupid. i don't do either. i am 6'5". i worry about bumps in the road and ducking when they get close.

I just check the inventory at the pull and pay here in Cincinnati and they have a 1999 and a 2000 Expedition. Looks like I'll be picking up a console tomorrow.
