Well done Daniiel ... you have solved a huge problem. :Handshake:

Would it be too much to ask to do a full write up thread dedicated to the installation of the esky dual bumper with spare tire preservation (re-routing of exhaust/hoist access)?

I erased them because they weren't important. and It's not that hard to Relocate the access hoist.I just remove the plastic tube lock key and cut two holes on each side

Maybe it's my phone, but I can't tell there is a spare in that pic, or even exhaust? :think:

I don't know what esca is ever up to ...

That image that doesn't show up has an ebay url and all the other pics belong to someone call Alex Ortiz.

Obviously someone did do the hoist access relocate, but unless we see a pic of the truck from underneath to see the spare and how everything was routed around it, it's hard to tell what the heck is going on. :shrug:

yah im used to 3.5 on the stock one and my 130 dollar 3.5 in/out magnaflow lol

I guess that one works with the tahoe ... but too small for our 6.2s no? :think:

your better off hp wise keeping the stock 3.5 inch exhaust set up and replacing main muffler with the 3.5 in/out magnaflow like I did on that set up.

Plus I've looked under my truck ... I can't see how that pipe can squeeze tween the axle and spare. Let's put it this way way ... better hope that spare is made of the same stuff steelworkers use to protect themselves from the smelter, or else is kaboom!

Yeah well, cut and weld yourself a composite high tech heat shield if you plan on keeping that spare ... I'm not kidding. With all that stuff so close to each other where it's not meant to be, at the very least you're going to melt the spare (which renders the whole exercise of trying to keep it moot), and at worse set your truck ass on fire ... and the gas tank ain't too far.

Man I wish you could have figured it out whilst retaining the spare ... you were so close with the hitch access relocation. :(

No doubt, it already looks amazing.

That was never in question as most of us agree with the killer look of it. But GM deleted the spare on the esky premium to option out the dual exhaust bumper.

So we've been trying to figure out a way to retain it ... the actual look of the dual setup wasn't the issue. :waytogo:

I ve been working the noggin overtime trying to find a solution ... a while back I stated that there doesn't seem to be a way to do this whilst retaining the spare. I really hate being right about this. Ugh!

Then what was the point of that mod to the bumper to get access to the hoist?? :think:

I guess it's the price of guinea pigging a new setup ... although anyone taking the time to look under their truck with a tape measure would have noted that squeezing an exhaust tween the axle and the existing spare was always going to be difficult if not impossible. :shrug:

@esca: Well, getting a different size tire is also going to be difficult ... the issue you have isn't related to the width of the tire but with the overall diameter/circumference.

The wheel/tire you have on there now retains approximately the same diameter as your stock ones ... if you put a smaller diameter tire it's going to lean the truck should you ever need to use it. I just went and looked again, not sure if the Tahoe is the same as the Denali, but I also have a sway bar even closer to the spare than the axle.

spares arent designed in theory to get you to drive all over town until you get a tire next week. They are designed for temporary use to get you to the nearest facility. Times have changed a bit where manufacturers are putting full size spares on because they know barely anyone is doing this anymore...however, keep in mind that some cars use "donuts" still, which arent the same size as a normal full size tire. Putting on a smaller diameter tire to get to the nearest shop isn't going to hinder anything or cause the vehicle to lean so dramatically that it cannot be driven.

just my thoughts...
